Review summary

The serenade is a very nice ship. It is a smaller size than the mega-ships which makes it far easier to navigate and easier to find pool chairs.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The dining room food was above average and there were good choices for lower calorie food. the specialty restaurants were excellent, wish they could have been a bit larger as it was hard to get reservations

Entertainment

3 out of 5
entertainment was very good, nothing exceptional.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All the staff were very friendly and helpful

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Smaller ship size was great, it has been redone and the decor is understated but elegant.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Staterooms are typical size for thew age of the ship, decor was nice, and cleanliness was good

Ports of call

Roseau, Dominica

for scuba divers, the scuba trip is A+++. Beaches are excellent too and the "downtown" is nice. Still an unspoiled island without a jewelry store every 10 yards.
Don't Miss: scuba dive on the reef wall

Basseterre, St. Kitts

5 out of 5
very nice island. The volcano hike is only for the very fit - it is beyond very strenuous and you dont get a view of the water just the volcano core.

Bridgetown, Barbados

5 out of 5
rum factory and beaches are great - can do it cheaper on your own.

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

we went over to Orient Beach and lazed on the beach for the afternoon. Just get a taxi and go without taking a tour. It is much much cheaper and the taxis are convenient
Don't Miss: orient beach

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

5 out of 5
the baths and caves at virgin gorda was awesome. again dont take the tour. ferry is a 10 min walk from the ship and you can save over half of the tour price by doing it yourself.
Don't Miss: virgin gorda caves and baths

Pros: i liked the smaller size of the ship and the variety of ports we stopped at.

Cons: after the cafe closed and dinner was done, you couldnt get any free drinks(ice tea, juices,) only water or pay for drinks. I had to order room service just to get an ice tea at 10 pm.

Recommends Serenade of the Seas? Yes!
