It was not quite to my expectations by SteveMBA

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Quest

Our expectations were very high as this is a luxury cruise line. However, we found that the food, overall, was very salty, apparently to add some flavor? Our room steward was non-existent and only wanted to clean our room just as we were getting back from an activity. The entertainment was top notch with some excellent vocalists. Perhaps we didn’t pick the best cruise itinerary, but it will be difficult cruising with them again.

An Amazing Experience with a Wonderful Crew by konadan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Quest / Destination: South America

This is really a review of two cruises because we took that first Antarctic cruise of the year in 2015 and liked it so much we came back for the cruise that included South Georgia Island. Our only disappointment was that we did not get on shore to see the millions of king penguins but had to see them from a zodiac because of high seas.

Anyway, traveling through the Antarctic Peninsula was an amazing experience. The expedition team did a wonderful job of getting everyone on shore safely to see the wildlife as well as giving interesting and informative lectures. We got to see several different types of penguins, seals and many kinds of birds on the landings. This was an experience of a lifetime.

One problem with any Antarctic cruise is crossing the Drake Passage where the seas can be very rough and many people, including my wife, get seasick. If you are likely to get seasick, it is best to choose a stateroom located in the center of the ship on a lower deck to reduce motion.

As usual, the quality of Seabourn's facilities and crew were excellent. We only had a couple of minor complaints

-the food started to get boring by the end of the cruise.

-the observation lounge was too crowded during the afternoon tea so we could not find a place to sit if we arrived at the allotted time.

A Luxury Cruise and Expedition! by talan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Seabourn Quest / Destination: South America

We loved this ship and cruise. Had looked at all the ships that go to Antarctica, both cruise and expedition, and this was a combination of both. Had 6 zodiac excursions in 6 days and all were outstanding. Took a private tour from Stanley in the Falklands and though the trip was rough the experience with the king penguins was worth it. Ship is sooo comfortable and staff are great. Food was so good my husband gained 14 pounds. Once you travel with Seabourn you will be spoiled for other cruise lines and larger ships. The lecturers were all excellent and the couple photographers are famous and for good reason. We spent some time in Vina del Mar after and really enjoyed. Especially loved the wineries in Casablanca Valley. Contact David for a lovely private tour of his small La Revoca Winery. You can find him on Facebook and his winery is not far off the road from Valparaiso and Santiago.

best cruise in every way!
