Review summary

We loved this ship and cruise. Had looked at all the ships that go to Antarctica, both cruise and expedition, and this was a combination of both. Had 6 zodiac excursions in 6 days and all were outstanding. Took a private tour from Stanley in the Falklands and though the trip was rough the experience with the king penguins was worth it. Ship is sooo comfortable and staff are great. Food was so good my husband gained 14 pounds. Once you travel with Seabourn you will be spoiled for other cruise lines and larger ships. The lecturers were all excellent and the couple photographers are famous and for good reason. We spent some time in Vina del Mar after and really enjoyed. Especially loved the wineries in Casablanca Valley. Contact David for a lovely private tour of his small La Revoca Winery. You can find him on Facebook and his winery is not far off the road from Valparaiso and Santiago.

best cruise in every way!

We had a suite with walk-in closet, big tub and shower, double sinks, in-suite frig stocked with our favorite liquors, beer, soft drinks. Very comfy bed! The larger suites are fantastic but we and my brother and his wife were delighted with what we each had.

Ship tip

Easy on and off ship. We did book mostly private tours as there were 4 of us and we could have a private tour for less than the ship's tours. Don't worry about what color you get for excursions as they alternate them all. Don't miss any of the zodiac trips as they are all somewhat different.

Take the local private trip out to Volunteer Point if you really want to see the king penguins as this is an ideal place to see them.

Tierra del Fuego National Park is interesting but ok if you miss it! Just walking around Ushuaia was enough.

Worth taking a private tour of this city. Complex and interesting, especially all the street art.
