I enjoyed my first cruise on Virgin Voyages. Sorry, families, but I loved the no children policy. The ship is beautiful. The food is amazing and the staff is friendly and helpful. We enjoyed it so much that we booked our next cruise while we were on the ship and got a great deal. These ships welcome single travelers offering mixers so you can meet. I highly recommend you try Virgin at least once.
Embarkation

I absolutely recommend a Rockstar suite. We arrived at the Rockstar entrance where a very nice porter tagged our luggage, and once we were through check-in, we had a comfortable sitting area until it was time to board the ship.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining

The best part of the cruise was the food. I loved the sit-down food court, aka The Galley. A staff member comes to take your order, and it is brought to you fresh. The dishes at the restaurants are wonderful. I loved the pizza. But the best part was The Sweet Spot, where you can get patisserie style treats!
Onboard Activities

My favorite was Bingo With the Diva.
Entertainment

There is a wonderful selection of entertainment. There is a PJ Party, and the Scarlet Night is so much fun.
Service and Staff

The staff is wonderful! I never encountered anyone who wasn't friendly and smiling. Our Rockstar Agent Gabriel was amazing! Yet another reason to book a suite.
Ship Quality

The ship is lovely. The ship was filled to capacity but it never felt crowded.
Cabin / Stateroom

We loved our suite. There was lots of room, and the hammock on the balcony was wonderful. One thing I disliked about the room is that the bed can't be separated into 2 single beds. This could be a problem if you are traveling with friends. I was traveling with family, so we were OK. The bed is big.
Ship tip
Use the app! It is great for keeping track of your activities, especially if you are traveling with a large group. And they have maps of the decks so you know where you are going.
The resort is a shirt tram ride from the pier. It is beautiful with 2 large resort pools and lots of beach area. We were able to hang at the Rockstar area with lots of beach chairs and umbrellas. There was an unexpected rain and we were able to take shelter at the bar area where they brought us lunch.
Unless you have an excursion planned, I would stay on the ship. The shops are mostly jewelry or cosmetic, and they are hard sale people trying to talk you into their store. There are a couple of pools for public use and lots of bars.
It was fast and easy, although we missed the time frame to leave our luggage out the night before there were no issues getting off the ship. And unlike other cruise lines, there wasn't a crush of people leaving at the same time.
