We were on board for both Cruises - Nov 28th and the following until Dec. 18th.
On both Cruises we DID NOT GET AN INVITATION TO THE CIRCLE PARTY. On the first cruise I found out by Chance and talked to the Circle Hostess about it and she said that she prints out the invitations and the room Steward has to put them on the Slot by our door.
On the second cruise the same Thing happened again. This time the Circle Hostess - it was a different one - was exceptionally unfriendly when I confronted her with this recurring Problem. Again she put the blame on the room Steward.
Upon disembarkation I found the Name tag from our cabin with my Statement and it had the colour BLUE - first time cruisers. I have not noticed this before because it was quite dark in the hallway. I was unable to find out what was going on - because actually we were as Elite Members in the Computer.
Could it be that - because we do not like to have the tips put on our Statement but do our own tipping - we are being ignored and on purpose not invited to this functions??? Overall the experience on the Sapphire Princess has not been great. It seemed that generally the staff from Top down did not really care about anything at least that was the feeling we had. No Supervision.

Food and Dining

The selection of the Food on the menue and at the Buffet was absolutely on the low side. Mostly Asian cuisine and the same items almost every day. On several days I ate Hamburger for dinner because there was nothing that appealed to me (I don't eat fish) And this is really not up to the Standard of Princess as we new from our past Cruises. But we notized that every year the selection becomes cheaper . mostly some Sauce dishes - which on this cruise was Asian. Not once did we get a Prime Rib or Pork Chops - or even some regular shrimps on the Lunch Buffet. Cheap Cheap Cheap. The Quality of the Food was also nothing to rave about. Since we both are from the Hotel Business and my Husband was a Chef we now the difference between good and tasty preparation and Food that just has been prepared without any great interest in the result. The Chef was never seen and that of course reflects on the whole outcome.

Waitstaff in the Dining rooms was very effecient, friendly and gave excellent Service.
The Service in the staterroom was disappointing. I never saw any Supervisor checking cabins.

The bedsheets were not straightened out - I could see that the Steward just covered the bed up again with the duvet. The Sheets were not changed even when they were a Little soiled !!! The beds which seem to be a new Feature - were extremly high and very difficult to climb up. Especially my husband who is handicapped and has not much strenght in his legs was only able to get on his bed with my help and had a hard time to move into the middle of his bed. 3 times he slipped of the bed and fell to the floor. Even after I moved the little ramp from the balcony door to his side of the bed it was still very difficult. Not a good idea for handicapped People. But it was also difficult for me - I am not a very tall Person and had to jump up because I could hardly sit on the bed - by butt barely reached the sinde of the bed!! We had twice Problems with the Airconditioning and als with the power - no lights at night. Also our TV had to be fixed a couple of times.
