Review summary

First time on Sapphire but not with Princess. Slightly disappointed with this cruise, for little things, but would probably give it another go, if we heard it had improved.

Food and Dining

We always ate in MDR in past cruises, but after being offered Mac n Cheese on formal night, and watching the quality of the food drop, we decided to eat at Horizon, a first for us! We ended up enjoying the food better, and choosing a lovely location outside on deck to eat it. There were many passengers we overheard felt the same way about the food, something I thought we would never have cause to complain about! On the other hand we had a speciality meal in the Steakhouse and that was fantastic!! Thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it! Food and service was brilliant! Will do that again if we go on Sapphire again.

Entertainment

The stage shows were the poorest we have ever seen on a ship. They lacked soul and life. The staff entertainment night was good though. We ended up following a fantastic artist, guitar singer Chris Ricketts. He is extremely talented and as well as a wonderful performance he alway had the audience laughing! He was the highlight of the ship! Ou

Service and Staff

Our room steward Antonio was great and a hard worker. Poor thing had to constantly put up with our calls for our blocked toilet, and non working tv. Both consistent during the cruise. Sergei in the International Cafe was brilliant and made the best coffees with great art!

Ship Quality

All appeared fine to us.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Our cabin was clean, just a couple of issues with the toilet blocking and tv not working. Otherwise was fine. Smaller but totally covered balcony which was good! Our room seemed smaller than in the past, but was still fine. Would probably stay in that room again. It was very quiet. Laundry was at the other end of the deck, bit of a walk, but only needed it once😀good exercise to walk off dinner! 😄

Ship tip

Try and pre pay as much as you can before you leave. We ate, drank, used the internet and came home owing only $68AUD. We had the soda package, best thing we did, plus ordered some gin and bourbon and water for our room. Use happy hour to try the cocktails. Relax and enjoy!🛳

Unfortunately had a relatively poor ship excursion which I think tainted our opinion of the place. Sitting in the coach for 5 hours all up out of the Day didn’t help. We were aware of the time it would take, but the rush in the time there in Bangkok wasn’t used effectively. Loved

Phu My (Ho Chi Minh City), Vietnam

Loved it, first time there, and the tour covered a lot of ground. Great place and will return. Thanks
