Good choice for a short cruise on the west coast.

Nice short cruise with at least one good port. I'm a fan of Princess and this was a pretty average experience for a Princess cruise. The boat was getting ready to head out to the Orient and it seemed like they were starting to prepare for that cruise at the expense of this itinerary to some degree. The poker table had been removed from the casino in preparation as well as a few other things.

Ship Quality
This class of Princess ship is on the top of my list. Easy to navigate and they are all the same, so if you've been on one you know you're way around.
Food and Dining
Lots of choices, good meals, and better desserts.
Cabin / Stateroom
Nice size for an interior room and the closet/bath layout keeps you out of each others way.
Service and Staff
Not quite as good as I expected based on past Princess experience. I think they were a bit stressed getting ready for the ship to move.

Destinations and Excursions
Ensenada is a dump, however we loved Santa Barbara. We did not do any excursions.
San Pedro (Los Angeles), California
We stayed in the Long Beach area, close to the ship and lots to do.
Santa Barbara, California
Great little town to walk around in. Check Diners, Drive Ins, and Dives for a good Mexican lunch walking distance to the ship, as well as a couple local microbreweries in walking distance as well.
Ensenada, Mexico
Might be a nice place to do an excursion, but not a nice place for walking around.

Tip

The rear adult only pool is a great place to relax in relative peace. My favorite spot on the ship.
