Review summary

Amazing! Princess has done a great job of balancing being cautious & keeping everyone as safe as possible with providing a quality experience.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We arrived a bit later than planned, so embarkation was quick & easy.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate dinner in the main dining room each night. The food was delicious & our servers were amazing.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was a good variety of onboard activities. Wasn't warm enough (for me) to spend time in the pool, but I went to shows, saw a couple movies, & participated in a trivia game.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Good variety of entertainment.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone we dealt with went out of their way to make sure the encounter was positive for us.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
The Ruby is starting to show her age, I think she may be getting due for a refurbishment. Common areas seemed to be clean, but there were places where fabric or upholstery showed definite signs of wear.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Cabin was clean & comfy. Princess has added motion sensor lighting on the base of the nightstands & in the closet area by the bathroom. Was OK unless one of us was trying to sleep.

Ship tip

Take some time early on to explore the ship. And if you have a question, ask. The staff was amazingly helpful.

Ports of call

Catalina Island, California

4 out of 5
Didn't do any excursions. Walked around & shopped a bit. Was fun to see the holiday decor.

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

3 out of 5
Was OK. Didn't do any excursions, just wandered around for an hour or so.

San Diego, California

5 out of 5
Took an excursion to the San Diego Zoo, which was really cool.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

4 out of 5
Took a Best of Cabo excursion. Got to spend some time at a glass blowing factory, which was a lot more interesting than I expected it to be. Also got to do a little shopping.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Easiest disembakation ever. We were asked to vacate our stateroom by 8:30 a.m. The disembarkation lounge for our group was comfortable & well staffed. There was no question ever about what to do or where to go.

Thanks for the feedback! What time were the evening shows in the Princess Theater? We’re trying to decide what time to schedule our dinners. Thanks!

Ruby has a fond place in our hearts, our first long cruise, our second cruise, and until our current one on Regal, the best casual music.
