Review summary
This was my third cruise, but first on Princess Cruises. We spent our 7 days in the Ruby Princess which is a beautiful ship. The service was excellent everywhere went on the ship we encountered a young service attendant named Edward who works mainly up on deck 16 in the bar. I can't recall ever having better service anywhere. The weather was great, visiting the ports of Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan and Cabo. All were very nice but Cabo was by far the best. I have to say the only real disappointment on the cruise was the food. We tried just about every area of the ship and none were standouts. The buffet was not very good, the main dining rooms were very hit and miss. Some days you had good menu options, other days not so much. We were a group of 8 and one night went to the Steak restaurant. The service again was superb. The beginning courses leading up to the steak were excellent. 6 of the 8 ordered the Ribeye and were very disappointed. It was not flavorful and quite fatty. Two who ordered the Filet said it was very good. So maybe only order the Filet. What Princess needs is variety.
All in all I would still rate this a very nice cruise and would come back to travel princess again.
