Review summary

Our cruise experience was everything we anticipated and much more! Our accommodations were amazing and the dining was beyond compare! The entire staff was wonderful and truly aimed to please the guests. The housekeeping staff deserves recognition along with the hosts and waiters at the finer dining restaurants. Everyone was so pleasant, happy and helpful!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Great food and dining experience was at a minimum comparable to any fine dining onshore. Our waiter (Tara) at the Crown was the greatest! Please note steaks were cold at the Crown.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Onboard activities were entertaining and fun! However we really wanted to experience the spa activities but they were extremely overpriced. We utilized on shore massage and spa treatments.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did not view much of the entertainment offered as we were enjoying our freedom to roam the ship, however the entertainment we did view was fantastic!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Awesome group from housekeeping to waiters! Kind, courteous and caring! Princess has an amazing staff!!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We had a balcony room and it was amazing! Suggestion: When cruising guests need to be connected to family members at home in case of emergency and a charge for internet service should not occur. Also the posting of photos on media such as Fasebook, etc. of great times onboard would be fantastic advertisement for Princess.

Ship tip

All dining rooms have exceptional food. However to get the wonderful ambiance of exquisite dining the Crown and Sabatini's is well worth the additional cover charge. I would suggest that one dining experience at any of the premier dining rooms be given free of the cover charge with the cruise.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

Santa Barbara, California

Rent a car and tour the city or visit nearby Solvang and the Mission! Wine tasting here is amazing!!

Ensenada, Mexico

5 out of 5
You almost need two days in port to experience Mexico. Also the trips onboard should be more comparable in price to the excursions offered onshore.

The Ruby Princess is a beautiful ship and is well maintained. The staff was excellent and there to please the guests. We are still basking in the fun we had on our trip. There is so many things to do with the pool, bands, singers, comedy, magicians, recreation, shopping, casino, sunning on deck, big screen movies under the stars, bingo, drinks, great wine at dinner, amazing food, we could go on and on! Not to mention the awesome in port excursions. If you drink alcohol l would suggest that you get the all drinks package offered by Princess. For $50 dollars a day all drinks are no additional charge. This includes  but not limited to, breakfast Bloody Marys, lunchtime Margaritas, excellent selection of dinner wines, desert Port and evening rum cocktails! Have fun!

Thank you for commenting on the ship and staff. We're going to Mexico the end of October.
