Loved this event, it was the first night at sea. Tip: take your own pictures, I had to buy this as I got so caught up I forgot. Royal Princess is wonderful.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Well organized, lots of friendly faces, a smooth transition, must have patience as it will be crowded.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
I came cruising solo, so stuck to the buffet and some individual places like the International Cafe. Food was good, not outstanding. Alcohol was costly, I did not do the package. Although the buffet shut down pretty early, difficult to get decent food after 10:30pm, same with drinks, the places close up early.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Pool and hot tubs were amazing, did a few things like trivia, passenger feud. Had one formal night, forgot to take pictures, you must take pictures then. Not a lot to do for a single person if you like dancing. The weird thing was they had a band, they played for 30 minutes, then stopped. Your forget moving to the next short event... Not a lot happening on the top deck, other than movies under the stars. Fitness center was fabulous and very clean and roomy.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Well Matt the entertainment director was amazing, he has so much energy and lots of fun. The bands that did play were wonderful. Just not a lot of choices if you like to dance. Mostly those events were in Club 6, which was a little to young for me, a small dance floor. I ordered a drink in there from the Medallion app, after 45 minutes it never came, so I told them to cancel it. I found out at the end of the cruise they charged me 11.50 cents for a drink I never got as I never went back to that place. Keep an eye on your tab, I did not and it was my mistake.
Children's Programs
I came along as a solo cruiser, so no children

Ship Quality

Very well maintained and very clean. A gorgeous layout and a beautiful ship.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I chose this cabin in advance. It was large, with a huge balcony at the back of the ship. I could not have asked for a better cabin. Very clean, spacious and I loved it.
Ship tip
Ask for ice daily for your water as the fridge is not a fridge, more like a cooler. Your steward will be happy to accomodate.
I actually did a beach excursion by motor coach. Went to Venice Beach, Marina Del Rey and Santa Monica. I used to live there over 20 years ago. My word, all those places have changed. Eye opening in Venice Beach.... So glad I moved away, Santa Monica I have lunch and it was very expensive, but a beautiful place. San Pedro was not so interesting.
Cabo San Lucas is so romantic. I took two excursions, a glass bottom boat, then later a sunset dinner cruise. My advice would be to buy the tickets (much cheaper at the port) and only get the sunset dinner cruise. The prices were the same at the port, they visit the same area. Here's the difference, the dinner cruise is way longer, 2 hours plus, has open bar and includes food. The craft is better too on the dinner cruise. But get the tickets when your there, it's negotiable, so you pay a lot less. I know, as I bought my tickets before and my new friend who came got a huge discount by purchasing it at the port. A wonderful place to visit. Oh, also have drinks at Captain Tony's by the waterfront. They have live music, a fun place.
