Review summary

We will do this cruise again, but try another cruiseline. This was the cruise where the woman was pushed off and was killed. There was a lot of rumors as to what happened. Not very comfortable.

Can (and has) happened on other ships/lines. We do not drink either and only get the soda package and never had an issue, unless the bartenders are super busy, but then everyone is treated the same then.

We have been on 19 Princess Cruises and have never seen or heard any of the bar staff treating non alcohol drinkers in the manner you described. As mentioned above these things(murder) can happen on any cruise line and have. This idea that someone can just fall over board is nonsense. The person that does is either pushed or doing something stupid!

It's not the cruise line fault...people come aboard with their personal baggage can happen anywhere

Princess has always been our favorite cruiseline. However, this trip was a little different. Our room attendant was perfect. He was very hard working and so very nice. We don’t drink. When we’d order a Diet Coke with lime or non alcoholic drink, we were served in small glasses. We felt like the bar staff wasn’t as attentive towards us as those drinking. I ordered a spicy Virgin Mary at the mermaid bar. The bartender poured Clamato and a shot glass full of worchestershire in a glass and told me to stir it myself. He then charged me. (We had a drink package) little things like that add up. There was an incident onboard, while heading to Aruba. A woman was killed. The announcement by the captain said it was a serious security breach. When in fact, it was a murder. The rumors were rampant. “Her leg was severed and laying on the deck” “her husband choked her”. The tour guides in Aruba and Bonaire knew more than we did. Very sad situation and not very comfortable. We will do this cruise again, but probably try another cruiseline.
