Review summary

The crew and staff were so mechanical , detached and plain place holders / cardboard cutouts I just felt like cattle being moved from feedlot to slaughter house . The first thing that told me me this was going to be a S--t show was the emergency drill . Now after flying halfway around the world , taxing a taxi to the port , clearing immigration customs and going to our room we need attend mandatory safety/lifeboat drill - hold onto your seats kids . everyone was to put down turn off cell phones and pay F--N attention. We went through it as a couple right at the feet of crew members continued to use phones - we had to do it all over again ??? WTF

Embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
I use Alaska air to book all hotel and more . I never get a vacation ! This was for my Daughters graduation. At every turn someone from this company and ship attempted to sell further services . Like being bothered by timeshare reps. Papers, announcements and personal approaches and dining relaxing . Terrible . I was tempted to tell the staff to bugger off . My Family is in the wine and food production business . We sell quality foods ( meats, cheeses , milk products vegetables organic and wine grapes and wine. First the wine selection was pedestrian and overpriced for quality . The waiters didn't know how to handle a bottle of wine ( murdering to opening and inspection of label cork vintage ) a terrible job . Even putting my Cork in his pocket ??? i objected and was dismissed - this cork incident happened twice with a 20 dollar corking fee . They invited me to their premier tasting . This was this worst pairing of wine to food and the selection of vintage and knowledge and of varietals , region and appalachia . So common taste it was unsophisticated . Now to the food ?? most of the dining in the Allegro had poor presentation , and most of the time just barely warm . I am not saying are server was not good but there was nothing he could do save the dish. And again there were attempt to get the persons to buy other things/services at dinner. Wrong a one and half star at best . We retreated to the buffet for breakfast and dinner as not to be disappointed by the terrible adventure . WTF As i said before The crew and staff were so mechanical , detached and plain place holders / cardboard cutouts . I wish i had not waited to answer the princess company prior to the 2 week cut off so they could read this .

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
wine tasting . Other than that not much . Did go to some of the on board shows . Didn't think much of them and left early .

Entertainment

2 out of 5
I did production and work with musical acts , attend and work concerts and DJ shows . The music was not my cup of tea - not good presentation and to middle of the road .

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
our steward was spot on . He was the saving grace of this trip . The waiters ? The main waiter was great but the others had no idea what they were doing . No idea how to present wine . No review of cork and no presentation . He not once but twice put the cork immediately in his pocket . When i objected he just gave me a look - had no understanding of wine presentation . I found the rest of of the staff detached . As i said before i should have know after the safety / lifeboat drill . WTF

Perhaps mass cruise is not for you. You should only do private cruise where they can/will do a better job for you. If you are ok with paying 10-20x the expenses. Cheers.

So Harry. If an emergency would have happened you'd be glad everyone was prepared. A little bit of advice get to port city a day early. Peace
