Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining room was as beautiful as in all other Holland America ships I’ve been on. Food was presented as if a work of art, not as tasty as other cruises but steak and salmon always cooked to perfection. Lido was also lacking in taste and quality, not bad but just not as good as others ships. The Dive was excellent, the burgers and fries were always good. The Mexican buffet was equally as good. Best guacamole. I’m room dinning was very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Holland America is for relaxing and re-energizing the body and soul. Not a whole lot of strenuous activities but plenty to do. The Explorations Cafe had tons of puzzles and board games, a very well stocked library. The pools and jacuzis are always relaxing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was very good. Singers, musicians, comedians and a magician, all top notch.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
As always on a Holland America ship, their crew is the very best. I have absolutely nothing to complain about, from the minute you board the ship until they wave good bye, they treat their guests like royalty.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It is an older ship but well maintained. Beautifully decorated and spotless. There is some sign of it’s age but a person needs to voluntarily look for it to find it.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Beautiful, large and very spacious.

Ship tip

Enjoy

Ports of call

Tampa, Florida

3 out of 5
Did not really visit, just drive there and parked. It seems like a fun port.

Key West, Florida

4 out of 5
Small port, very busy, lines for everything. Worth a one time visit just to experience it.

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We took an island tour, it was interesting. A word of advise, all of the tour buses, through ship or individual hire are made in China and are VERY SMALL, I’m 5’6”, it was very hard to get through the seats in the bus and even to sit down. The actual port had a nice beach and lots of touristy shops.

Santo Tomas De Castilla, Guatemala

5 out of 5
This port is beautiful. We took an architectural tour if Mayan ruins, it was an hour sand a half drive to and from, well worth it, beautiful country.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

We did a sageway tour, it was fun. This is a shop, drink and eat port. Lots of expensive merchandise.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast and easy.
