Review summary

The Rotterdam is a wonderful ship. Having been refitted and freshened six months ago, it's in tip-top shape. HAL ships have beautiful artwork and fresh flowers throughout the ship; these add significantly to the cruise experience for us. This is a mid-sized ship, so there's no long lines for anything. There is a full complement of activities and services equal to much larger ships.

Don't Miss: Whale watching and wildlife cruise. Saw at least 15 whales, hundreds of sea lions, eagles, etc.

This is what I thought Alaska was all about! The town IS a picture postcard. Be sure to save adequate time to wander about.

Victoria, British Columbia

Don't Miss: Beautiful city--see as much as you can.

Sitka, Alaska

We left our shore excursion after half an hour--it seemed to have been a short excursion that was "stretched" to make it a higher cost excursion.

Pros: The size and condition of the ship

Cons: We had to leave!
