River Baroness overview

Intimate and charming the River Baroness offers finely appointed rooms from the marble lobby-reception area, to the comfortably chic staterooms all with an outside view. The main lounge's large picture windows, cozy leather sofas and easy chairs make this the perfect place to sit back and enjoy the ever-changing scenery. Indulge in great regional food and impeccable service in the comfortable but elegant restaurant. Later relax in the pub-style atmosphere of the bar reliving your day's adventures over a frosty beverage or stroll along the sun deck to take in the evening air.

Fabulous Experience! by Cruiser88624964

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: River Baroness / Destination: River Cruises - Europe

Wonder no more. A river cruise is the perfect venue to experience a new area or country. A more intimate  look at local communities, towns or cities. Daily excursions accompanied by local guides knowledgeable about the area's history made each experience memorable. One thing I learned, it's not a leisure cruise, so be prepared to get plenty of exercise. Nevertheless, I enjoyed every trip ashore. When we had down time, I favored sitting on the upper deck. Some of the nicest people I met were a part of the staff. It was easy to tell that everyone's goal was to be sure each guest enjoyed themselves. An unexpected bonus we were fortunate to have assigned to our cabin was an exceptional man we called "V" in order to not repeatedly mispronounce his actual name. He was truly a blessing. I would not hesitate to book another river cruise on a Uniworld ship.

Simply magnificent! by BettyW1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: River Baroness / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

We sailed on Uniworld's River Baroness from Paris to Normandy. The ship was well appointed with nice monogrammed linens. The public areas (lounge and dining room) seemed like an intimate club. We had a full house with 121 guests and this seemed like the biggest difference between this cruise and others we have been on. There were no long lines for anything. Big ships always seem like a cattle call when its time to get on or off the ship and during meal times. Not on Uniworld! I'm not sure if we will ever be happy on a big ship again after this wonderful experience! The crew spoke English very well so there was never a time when we had a language problem. The ship was very clean and the staff took pride in their work. Every meal was wonderful. The evening dinners looked as good as they tasted. The presentation of the meals was incredible; just beautiful.

Uniworld Misreprents this Itinerary by ToddA2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: River Baroness / Destination: Europe - Western Europe

Uniworld learned in Jan 2007 that their Paris to Paris itinerary was denied by French authorities. They have replaced two days in LeHavre with 2 days each with 4 hours of bus time from Rouen. They are concealing this from prospective passengers. Caveat emptor.
