Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Great ship, great staff, great food, great route. We visited wonderful places. I've loved everything, and can't wait to do another cruise. I always recommend Royal Caribbean to everyone.

Disappointed by garyandolga

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

Ship food was not very good, both dining and windjammer. The cabin was way too small for 3 adults. Entertainment was amateurish. The staff was great in main dining Clarissa, and room attendant Rome were great. All the ports were very good. Would of liked to have spent more time in Kotor. The beaches were beautiful.

Entertainment on the ship is like watching a high school production. So disappointed. However, Can't say enough about the great staff- they have been amazing.

Friendly Staff by JonnSusan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

The crew onboard this ship was the best. The entertainment is lacking and Dan Dan is very weak, but staff is very welcoming and attentive. Had an issue with a horrendous manicure- and the spa DID NOT compensate.

Great Food And Spectacular Cruise Director by RobinAC22

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food in the main dining room was absolutely 5 star all the way and our waiter and assistant waiter were very attentive to all our needs.  We never had a bad meal and Law, our waiter, always offered extra helpings to the growing boys (among others) at our table, including extra lobster.  The highlight, however, was our cruise director Dan Dan.  He was by far the most entertaining cruise director I have ever had on a cruise.  He was better than any comedian on the ship and his morning shows were hysterical.  Dan Dan could improvise better than any comedian I have ever seen and his side kick Daniel was funny also.  Overall, we had a great time on this cruise and would highly recommend it  If I had to say anything negative, it would be for the ship to upgrade their mattresses as we all noticed they were somewhat on the hard side.

Another great cruise! by bllwrrn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailed the last western caribbean cruise of their season before they headed to Europe.  One of the best crews we have had in over 75 cruises.  Wait staff was excellent in the main dining room and in the Windjammer. Food was better than expected.  We enjoyed Giovanni's so much that we ate there twice. The smaller ships seam to suit us best and this one didn't disappoint us. Embarking and disembarking went quick and smooth.  Overall, an excellent cruise!

Just got off yesterday. Can't... by JohnKathy

Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Just got off yesterday. Can't say enough about how great the staff were. A great group of people. If your looking for a Friends of Bill meeting check message board next to library. Food in main dining room was not very inspiring on most nights. If your looking to do something extra for staff get them some candy from port. They really appreciate it. The speedboat snorkel trip is the best. Peace The staff made it three stars.

Small but just right by capeman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We purposely chose this ship to travel on due to the size, the itinerary and port of departure.  I was a big ship fan, having sailed on their largest, newest and all others in-between , but nothing beats the service and friendless of the smaller classes.  Here the crew has more time to interact with the passengers than they would on the larger vessels, this lends to the friendly and personalized service offered to the passenger.   Passengers seem to be a lot friendlier on the small vessels as well.  The MDR staff had their act together, all the servings were hot and tasty, the same could be said for the windjammer where we took most of our meals.   As for ship activities there is room for improvement compared to other ships in the brand.  The ship is older, but well kept, no complaints there.  The casino did not stink of gin and cigarettes as found on the other ships in the brand.  The music venues both live and canned were nice, as we are dancers and were able to dance many nights.  We wished RCCL had a bit more latin music mixed in every night from the live bands, even if it were only two songs out of ten.  All in all it was a good and enjoyable cruise, I would have to trouble booking this ship again.

Most memorable trip ever by dmmsoccer14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There was always something to do on the boat. For my 1st cruise it was good to be on this boat bc it was smaller and you got the feel of a cruise. I met people from all over the world and some even from my home town. You will have the time of your life if you get involved in things on the boat. Every worker on the boat is so generous and caring, they always have a smile on your face to keep your day going well.

Smaller is not bad by GatorCruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Rhapsody of the Seas is not one of those mega ships that we hear about these days.  This is good.  The check in at the Tampa Port was very smooth as was the disembarkation.  Very few lines experienced on the ship.  It was very easy to get around the ship once you familiarize yourself with the layout.  The food and drinks were very good.   We really liked the Jr. Suite.   The stateroom attendant should have done a better job of monitoring and enforcing our stateroom neighbors from smoking on their balcony.  There was not way he could not have known they were smoking.  Sitting on our balcony to enjoy the view and the ocean and then having to smell cigarette smoke was disappointing.

All in all, it was a really great cruise and the land excursions were very good.

My husband and I enjoyed... by Kashton

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

My husband and I enjoyed our cruise on the Rhapsody (disembarked yesterday) we only had our dinners in the main diner area (no specialty restaurants) and our waiters were outstanding. Food was very good with many choices (3 courses) if you're a heavy eater don't be shy to ask for seconds, not that we did, but I will admit on the night they included lobster tail on the menu, because they're small my husband asked for 2 of them, no problem. Windjammer was good. Staff in all areas were fantastic. I personally found the bed quite comfortable. We had a cabin with a window, thought it was plenty for 2 people. We were not as impressed with the entertainment choices and time slots, but overall I'd say the do attempt to provide something for all ages. We pre-booked our excursions through RC and enjoyed each of them in every port, had no issues. My only advice is if you choose my-time dining, definitely call ahead or go online and arrange a time and RSVP your seating for each night. The dining room gets busy, many people who walked up and asked for a table, even just for 2, we're told there was a wait. Lines get long. If you RSVP and can't make it it's no big deal, but better to have one than not. If you RSVP you get right in.

Rhapsody is an older ship... by Rollo67

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Rhapsody is an older ship and much smaller than the newer ones, but I loved it! Great service, and good shows, food was good, Dan Dan is fantastic. This ship has a nice cozy feel to it, and the itinerary was excellent. Also Tampa port was great. It literally took us 10 minutes to disembark.

We had a lovely vacation... by lpembertoncharternet

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

We had a lovely vacation on board The Rhapsody of the Seas. The staff was very friendly and accommodating although we rarely saw our cabin steward (didn't even meet her until the 3rd day of our cruise). The ship is in great condition and not huge and over crowded. The only time we had to stand in line was when we arrived at a port and it didn't take long to disembark. The beds in the rooms leave much to be desired--very hard and not comfy at all. Our son had a better bed on the couch. The food was good-good variety at the Windjammer Cafe--wait staff in the dining room was great. We only booked 2 excursions before we got on the ship and both ended up getting cancelled. We were able to re-book others with a discount but were looking forward to what we had originally signed up for. I recommend booking your excursions off ship. The pool was nice and we were always able to find lounge chairs on the deck. Nothing worse than an over crowded deck with chairs reserved with towels and no occupant in them for hours. The shows were entertaining and the activities staff did a great job keeping us laughing. If you want a ship that you are able to get around easily and quickly and don't need all the hubbub of the fancy over sized vessels, I recommend the Rhapsody of the Seas.

**BEWARE of Royal Carribean** We... by kallay7

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

**BEWARE of Royal Carribean** We cruised 3/18-3/25/17 with a group of 8 couples. They booked one of our excursions incorrectly (my husband and me not whole group) on the ship and their mistake led to us not being able to do it. We booked a dive for Costa Maya, the night we LEFT Cozumel- we had already left port and were booking for the next morning. The next day we were in Costa Maya and got off the ship for our dive only to learn they booked the dive in Cozumel, which we had left, for the previous day- meaning they somehow booked a dive for a day in the past in a port we already left. If that wasn't bad enough (we were really looking forward to it), the manager acted like it was somehow our fault that they booked the wrong day and port! We stood there in shock as she tried to turn it around on us. We weren't angry or demanding, we just went to talk about what happened. My husband is very much of the mindset that mistakes happen and you give them the opportunity to make things right. The manager though could not have been less apologetic and didn't even believe us until she looked in the computer- she acted as though we just missed our excursion the day before- which was clearly not the case. Once she realized it was in fact their mistake she said they would refund the $150/pp for an excursion we never got to do, and acted as though it was some big gesture on their part to even do. Seriously! When we inquired about RC covering the snorkel trip ($39/pp) we did instead since it was one of the only options left that late in the morning- the alternative being in port 7 hours without an activity (we are "adventure" people not hang around port people) she literally told us "Well you should have just done nothing then". She actually said that to us. It takes a lot to upset my husband, but she managed to do just that. We didn't go on a cruise to sit in port and not do anything. She very reluctantly eventually gave us a 50% discount after going in circles on the snorkel. And then things got worse. That evening we happened to win a raffle in the jewelry department (we were entered after buying 2 watches from them on board) but because we were at a PAID chef's table with our group and my husband got down there a few minutes late (he had to wait for the chef to explain the current course so he wasn't completely rude leaving the table and rushing down to the raffle) they told him we couldn't win because he wasn't there on time. He was there within minutes of them pulling our name. So we ended up penalized for paying for an additional special dinner with them ($85/pp) that they knew we were at (the ship was at sea, we were all on the boat!) and they wouldn't honor it. They literally ruined the last 2 days of our trip, and really the whole cruise for us. I contacted RC once back and so far we have had no response from them. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. We had actually booked another cruise while on board before all of this happened, and have since canceled it due to their inability to make things right (including a future group cruise of the Mediterranean). Our whole group witnessed it, including platinum members of theirs, and all were left shocked and disappointed by their terrible customer service. We spent a lot of money with them on extras and shopping (not to mention $20k in art and jewelry our group purchased) and they just alienated future customers of theirs over a $40 snorkel excursion they should have covered due to their mistake, and a couple hundred dollar raffle prize. Just be aware that if you book with RC and there is an issue, do not expect them to make things right.

We had a really good... by Seeshells

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

We had a really good time! My husband and I like this size of ship..not too big. Don't have to stand in line for dining or the elevators. Plenty of seats in the theater too. The entertainment was very good also. We had 3 comedians.. all funny. And activities were always going on somewhere. Our cruise director and activities manager were full of spunk. A lot of fun. Lots of excursions at the ports. Would recommend this cruise.

This ship was perfect for our very first cruise. It truly made us fall in love with cruising! The rhapsody was small enough that we, more importantly our grandparents, could explore without getting overwhelmed.
