Lovely cruise and Staff by malx1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The cruise is really for the younger crowd as it has a lot of beach visits on the islands not much in the way of towns more like small villages

We loved the 28th July... by Nicolekathleen

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

We loved the 28th July cruise experience and highly rated the ship itself. There was plenty for us to do and the main restaurant- food and service were excellent. I would stress the very hardworking staff were wonderful. We enjoyed the shows too. The only issues we had were shore based - long queues in baking heat - (e.g. over an hour at underground lake on the Argostoli stop) but that’s a seasonal issue and we just couldn’t do the trip in cooler, less busy times. Also getting on sea bus at Mykonos, to return to ship, was a nightmare of poor signage and even felt dangerous - but that is all quite independent of Royal Caribbean- them I could not fault and would do it all again ASAP if I could afford it!

Rhapsody was a very clean... by phillyyoursilly

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Rhapsody was a very clean ship. I think it’s time that the interiors get a little more revamping though especially with what all the newer ships are looking like. It is however always clean. The staff were typical of Royal Caribbean and always above and beyond, and always doing their best to make sure you have a great experience. Would be cool to see a little bit more stuff on the top deck, they only have the one pool. We were on this for a 7 day cruise, so we were actually off the ship for 4 of the days in Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia. Food was very good on the ship!

DISAPPOINTED by lmegs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

We were a group of 10 who previously traveled on cruises with Royal Caribbean. Past experiences were great. Seems like they are cutting back on the quality and abundance of food. Breakfast buffet was the same every day, greasy fatty bacon, fake eggs swimming in liquid, food in dining room was cafeteria food quality. Gone are the late night buffets and abundance of food. Only 1 place open after 9pm offered hot dogs with stale buns, cardboard pizza and salad. Same thing for the entire cruise! Luckily my mom had a suite which offered free room service. We spent a lot of time in the room ordering late night snacks. Otherwise there was nothing to eat! Never have I been on a cruise where the food was sparse and quality was horrible. Pools and hot tubs closed at 9pm too. Very surprising for Royal Caribbean.

7-Night Greek Isles Cruise - Royal Carribbean - Rhapsody of the Seas by DDT19345870

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Eastern Mediterranean

The junior suites at the rear of the ship vibrate constantly when the ship is at or near 20 knots. The first four days we found it very difficult to sleep. Once the ship slowed down, the vibrating stopped.

We had a great time... by bumbleboy

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

We had a great time on the Rhasopdy loved the carabean band & singer/band in the atrium. Loved the game shows & 70s night was great too. The entertainment team were all great & involved themselves with everyone . Loved the way the whole team of staff & captain were also involved in activities and very accessible. Food in Windjamer was ok plenty of choice, but sometimes only warm and dry. Food in MDR was ok but , repetative menu. Bar staff excellent exspecially around the pool area, constantly asking if you need more drink also bringing different cocktails to try. Staff in general all very helpful & professional. Inside cabin rather dated needs some upgrade, as does some parts of the ship. Iterinary good but needed longer at Split & Corfu leaving at 3pm not really enough time to see much. Katakolon tender slow and a little disorganised meaning little time at port. We enjoyed our first time on Royal Carabean but certain parts of this ship need attention, and not too sure about the windjamer cafe. Celebrity cruises buffet is far nicer and food is cooked fresh.

Ports were great. Could use... by rlmoxley12

Sail date: /
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas

Ports were great. Could use a few more dedicated lounges and the Windjammer food was horrid. First cruise I have ever been on that offered nearly no variety from day to day. Pizza was not edible and the hot dog buns were kept on a heat lamp which dried them out.

Exceptional sightseeing cruise by Tessa414

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

A really fast paced taste of Europe! I have been on a few cruises to Italy, never have enough time in Rome, I wish the ships could stay at least one night. I think there next time I will start in Italy staying a few days prior to embarkation.

A Mediocre Ship with Outstanding Crew by captainbones

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

This is the cruise to take if you want to make a crossing of the Atlantic from Tampa, Fl to Barcelona Spain with several great ports between over a 14 day period. However, after the itinerary, this ship lacks in overall consistency. The ship is one the smallest and older ships and it is reflected in aspects of the ship. The main decks are not easy to transverse from bow to stern because of add on areas to the ship. The food is well below average, is very inconsistent in its preparation and overall quality, the drinks are expensive $14-16.00 and not made consistent from bar venue to bar venue, the three specialty restaurants are your best choice if you want fairly consistent food with the Chop House being the most consistent in quality and service. The ship works to separate you from your money with a $7.95 charge for room service, expense drinks, expensive photos packages while at the same time offering lower quality food. The strongest point of the ship are the entire crew, cruise director, and overall entertainment and shipboard activities. The crew is very multicultural which makes it work even better. Every crew member will do whatever is necessary to make sure you enjoy the cruise by their service and friendly attitude. Again, the best complaint is the ship’s approach of charging excessive prices for everything will “bottomlining” everything in order to line its pockets. You will also find the daily tips higher than average onboard this ship, and only justified by the friendliness of the crew if it is totally to their benefit. This is a cruise you would only take to avoid flying in coach for a comparable price between the U.S. and Europe, but be prepared to pay for every service onboard the ship. This ship makes its money by upselling its lower cost cruise prices for its staterooms and then collecting its cut from the pricing of its services. Caveat Emptor!

Just got off yesterday had an amazing cruise. The food and service was amazing. Our waiter Dean couldn't do enough and our head waiter Renatta was wonderful. Love the big ships but can't beat the personal service on the smaller ships.
