Overall it was a good cruise. Loved the ports, especially Costa Maya.  First class. Loved the dolphin encounter in Cozumel. Shows were good, especially the comedian. Cruise director was excellent. Shopping good.

On the downside, ship was very dated. Very disappointed in the food and the drink prices were outrageous. Witnessed a medical emergency on deck 5 last night of cruise and it took medical personal over 30 minutes to respond. That was very disturbing to me.

Amazing Vacation by sgpierc89

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first time I've ever vacationed on a cruise and I had a blast! The staff was very friendly and helpful and the little things they did made our vacation experience! Our stateroom attendant, Randy, greeted us by our names every time we saw him. Our waitstaff for dinner, Maria, Wilmer and Fabiano were amazing! We also loved the R Bar where the barstaff knew us by name as well! Great first cruise experience and I can't wait for our next!

Have fun and learn something new! by tedi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For sure I would recommend this trip to others. Royal Caribbean  is the best in my estimation to cruise with. The Rhapsody of the Seas is an older, smaller ship.  It  is just beautiful in and out. Food was delicious and service was great. Make certain to take some of the excursions because that is where you learn about the countries you are visiting. Good deal!

Average Cruise by michaelkinney19

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I wouldn't recommend this ship. It's smaller than I thought. The entire cruise the ship was rocking from the waves.( people failing). It was windy and cloudy the entire time. Was not able to go to one of the ports (Costa Maya) because the winds wouldn't allow docking. My wife was injuried by a chair on the pool deck area because of the winds, blowing the chairs around. After going to medical to get stitches (stirry strips) , there was no follow up. (Staff did not even check in once afterward, btw she was hit in temple by chair so hard it cut her). The coffee was horrible. That being said the food was excellent, staff was very nice and accommodating. The entertainment was also good.

for the most part it was ok.  the time on the ship was mostly boring.  the activities are definitely planned with older people in mind.  the weather wasn't good, so that meant we had extra time on the ship.

Rhapsody of the Seas vacation by pddvm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The excursions we planned thru American Airlines were all excellent. The high light was the Cave tubing thru the Mayan caves in Belize. Our guide was Ramon. Knowledgable , entertaining and helpful. Would do it again!

Sailing on the America's cup 12 meter was beautiful and exhilarating.

Rhapsody Wrap Up by GarcesFamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We looked forward to having dinner every night with our amazing servers. What a pleasure, and so entertaining!

You MUST go on the excursions and take adventure of the adventures that are offered on all the islands. Our family had the absolute best time participating in some of these offerings!

Although the night life and adult entertainment was very good, the ship needs to offer more downtime activities....board games, puzzles, fun classes that older kids and adults can participate in (cooking, painting, etc...). I saw A LOT of folks playing cards on board, MORE ping pong tables - one is NOT enough for over 2,000 people!!!

7 Night Caribbean with the Kirbys by avakirby

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful time on the Rhapsody of the Seas. The food, excursions, and the theater shows were favorites. The staff was fantastic! Friendly, helpful and always had a smile!

The excursions were fun and we learned about each Island from the tour guides. Playing with monkeys and beach time in Roatan, hiking through the jungle and cave tubing in Belize, then bike riding and snorkeling in Cozumel, we had a blast!

Can't wait to go on my next cruise!!  Happy

Great Trip/ Rough Seas by ggates6590

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was a great trip for the 10 of us. Customer service was great, but the boat rocked the WHOLE trip. Not as stable as most Royal ships I have been on. At the end of the trip we heard that the captain was new, but he blamed it on rough seas. Im not sure we could have had rough seas for 7 days straight. Boat had plenty to do.

On board the Rhapsody of the Seas by skor30

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This wasn't our favorite ship.  My wife and I have cruised at least 20 or more cruises over the years and found this to be our least favorite ship.  It is an older and smaller ship.  We didn't like the choices of trying to find a cup of coffee or something to drink when the dining rooms were closed.  Most times they were empty and needed to refill supplies.  Also the selection of the menu has gone down hill in the dinning rooms.  It was hard to find something that I thought "WOW" this was great.  We also like to hear entertainment before dinner and in the evening.  There was only one selection before dinner and sometimes they didn't show up.  Same in the evening, you were lucky to catch the piano bar open or lounges with music. A real disappointment for us, we like that part of the trip.  I wouldn't recommend this for any first time cruisers, you might not want to go back again.

Wonderful staff, meh for most other things by kiffy213

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

One thing I will say for royal Caribbean is they know how to hire the right people. Our servers, housekeeping, and almost everyone working on the ship were wonderful. The boat itself was a smaller cruise liner, so the rocking of the boat was felt 24/7. I wouldn't have minded so much, but all the indoor decks near the windows creaked with the swaying, making it hard to relax or concentrate. The nightly show was enjoyable for the most part, but subpar for other cruises I've been on. The activities on board weren't great for a married couple in their 20s, but seemed geared more for the elderly. I like that the dinner setup encourages diners to be social, but I did find that the food was not quite as good as on other ships. The gluten free options also were lacking, and a few were marked incorrectly (I.e. Baked Alaska said there was a gluten free option when there wasn't. This was not the only dish this happened with.) we still had a lot of fun, but I would not call this ship above average.

First impression--long, long lines by Valeriecallas75

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The best part of this cruise was beautiful weather. The ship was clean and the crew was always available offering hand sanitizer. Food was adequate but repititious and food stations took unusually long preparation time.

Most ports were to third world countries...not uplifting for your soul.

My first winter trip by tiggs727

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Hi I'm Jonathan Taylor. Recently my family and I embarked upon "The Rhapsody Of The Seas" via Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. We had a very good trip. The shops aboard the ship had some pretty good duty free discounts and the ports of call were great as well. Most of the ports I'd never been to before so that added to my enjoyment as well. The one thing that I would change on this ship would be the food. While the food was good, I was disappointed that the food did not reflect the places that we were going to visit.

Nice Cruise by zhengchun0305

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Rhapsody of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We are happy with the cruise. but it could be so much better in many ways.

The restaurants and buffet hours are not long enough to meet everyone's schedule. All closed too early, way too early for cruisers who have a night life. Food are ok, but not fascinating at all. Menu repeat too many time!
