Review summary

Great itinerary , if you are not afraid of 8 consecutive sea days |(I love sea days). Ship is of the older type, don't expect Oasis class experience, and you will enjoy the activities and entertainment

Embarkation

3 out of 5
pretty smooth after the Coast guard imposed delay. Hint, when this hapens in Miami, maybe a wait inside the terminal would be better than out in the sun

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Variaety was not same as previous experience with Royal. Service was great, but food was disappointingly boring. Major highlight was the Osso Buco on mediterenian night, which was exceptional. Unfortunately most other attempts at mediterrenian/middle eastern food were not very good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Like fitness center and whirlpools. Great to have the option for whirlpool in the solarium.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Production shows were great, as was the circus act and the excelent tenor. I always felt that comedy is not a good main theater option (2 nights). The party band Music Motion was exceptional, but only stayed until Malaga, the replacement greek band is great in their element, but fail when it comes to Rock'n'roll or international hits

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Waiters were excelent. The room staff seems to be trying, but looks like it is cut back, and the one daily service does not always come in time when one needs an extra towel mid-day

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
ship definitely shows it's age. Some cracked vinyl upholstery, one elevetor never worked for the whole trip, some facilities patched up with no real effort to blend in.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
size is adequate for my needs, even with some extra luggage I had, furniture and bathrood do seem old but everything worked.

Ship tip

Don't expect the newer ships experience

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

3 out of 5

Funchal, Madeira

5 out of 5
Not to be missed. Most can be ciovered on foot, but beware of hills if you are not in shpae. Views are spectacular, city had some parade at that day which added some fun

Malaga, Spain

4 out of 5
Beautiful destination, much history and art.

Mykonos, Greece

3 out of 5
not for walking

Haifa, Israel

2 out of 5
Port facilities are improvised, looks like passenger ships are a new thiing for this port

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
Long line, walk in the sun, not ideal
