Review summary

This was our second cruise and we happened to have Micca as our Cruise Director for the second time. He's a great Cruise Director. I met a lady onboard who said that she often cruises free with a different line but that this is her first paid cruise with Princess. Between cruising free with the other line and paying with Princess, she said she'd pay to cruise with Princess. I think that says volumes. I love Princess Cruises or as they say on the ship "I love it here!"

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We learned from our previous cruise that the set embarkation time that was assigned to us for our April 2023 cruise nearly made us late for embarkation. This time, we drove to Galveston the night before so that we could get to port between noon and 1pm. The embarkation lines were long but moved fairly quickly and orderly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We ate at the buffet, the Symphony Dining Room, Crown Grill and Alfredo's. Had coffee and treats at the International Cafe several times. We stopped by several bars as well. Food and drinks were great all around. I appreciated the attention to my food allergies in Symphony and Crown Grill.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
We participated in too many activities to name. Watched some, participated in others. We went to the Marriage Game, Strike Out, lots of dancing with DJ Anelah (sp) and Seascape.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We enjoyed the comediens and illusionist. Did not attend the circus-type show. We had the Premier Package which was supposed to give some sort of priority seating but there was no seating and no Princess staff to assist so we left. Also, A word of advice, people seem to go to the show before the even that they actually want to attend just to hold seats. So if there is a game or event to that want to go to, get there an hour early if you can.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
We were confused about port arrival time on our Cozumel port. It was announced that we would be arriving 30 minutes later than scheduled so we missed our paid for excursion by 15 minutes. When I got to the meeting place onboard I was told that they'd already left and there was nothing I could do. Later in the day, someone who went on the same excursion told me they'd sat at the meeting place onboard for an hour AFTER I was there and had been turned away. I went to Guest Services and the person who "assisted" me was the single person on the cruise who didn't give two flips about the fact that I'd missed my excursion. She could not have cared less. Didn't offer any solution or empathy. Other than that, service and staff were excellent.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Layout was great. Staff was constantly cleaning and taking away trash and dirty dishes.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was great. Given the opportunity, I will request the same cabin again.

Ship tip

Make your dinner reservations for specialty restaurants as far in advance as possible. They book quickly.

We were herded like cattle but it was all very orderly and organized.
