Review summary

This was a birthday cruise and a chance to spend time dancing with my childhood sweetheart so our cruises are usually wonderful and this one was

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Quickest embarkation and debarkation In all my cruises. pretty much just walked on and off

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5

Symphony Dining Room

5 out of 5

Food and service was top notch. Our table was ready every night and we never waited. I know Princess has the best buffet at sea but we eat only one meal there since the main dinning room was so good.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
The production shows were wonderful the dancers and vocalists worked really hard to deliver a great show. The magic act keep us all wondering how he did that and Don ellis Gatlin had two great shows. We spent most of our entertainment time around the Piazza and both the bands did great but a country band would have been even better considering the ship left from Texas.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Same as above

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Princess really works at good service both our room steward and MDR waiters were great and made sure they knew us personally and knew what would make our cruise special.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is beautiful and subdued colors compared to a carnival ship but provided stunning views everywhere. Everything was easy to find but I would have liked it if the had a club for dancing other than the main piazza with a live band.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
while the inside cabins are usually smaller I like the control of light and temperature for my afternoon nap. The bed was great and the european plug behind the bed made it possible to plug both our CPAPs and and O2 concentrator in without stringing extention cables across the room. Everyone knows Princess showers are better suited for Barbie Princess than most american cruisers but the shower curtain keep the rest of the cabin dry and we had empty drawers even with everything out of the suitcases. even better Princess Medallion open doors for you and knows if you are in.

Ship tip

The sanctuary pool, hot tubs, and bar is a great place to spend a sea day and usual it’s quiet enough to have a normal conversation but if you want a good lounger don’t wait for breakfast in the MDR or linger to long in Horizons.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

3 out of 5
Almost every ship we take ends up hear this time we made chocolate and they did a great job adding culture and information but Cozumel is always the same. Normally we don’t get past Three Amigos

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
I wish this port was closer to home but it is still one of the best I have used in my nearly 50 years of cruising.

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

3 out of 5
had fun at the beer brewery but we rarely take any caribbean tours because we have been to most ports many times

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
could not have been better we were off Galveston Island by 8:33. note how specific the time was that’s because how impressed I was considering we are not priority cruisers on Princess yet.
