A medium + for us. 7 out of 10. The cost was the best. A lot less than RC, but not as festive and busy.

Easy. Had the Medallion shipped to our house prior to leaving.

Food and Dining

You must go to the back 2 Horizon buffet lines. Lots of good choices there. BUT - No soft butter ever. Coffee is mediocre and never very hot. Waffles cold, butter cold, syrup cold. One breakfast everything was cold. English muffins, eggs, bacon, ham. Need a microwave for heating up your plate. Milk is served in the tiniest glasses ever. Get 2 or 3. Desserts usually all bad with a few exceptions. Oatmeal cookies were great! A souffle dessert and an apple crisp were good. Servers never smile, seem unhappy to be there. Versus Royal Carabbean where they are happy. Symphony Dining room was good! Good tasty food choices as Beef Tenderloin. Had the pumpkin seed rolls! Again - cold hard butter. Shrimp cocktail great. Lobster night great. Mahi mahi great. Chocolate Torte and the ice cream were good.
Onboard Activities

Nothing much interested us. Not karaoke. Bingo costs too much. Piano room not excellent. Not as many choices as RC ships. Watched 4 movies in the room. Movie selection was great.
Entertainment

Balcony was small and the floor dirty with stain. So didn't go out there much. The room was smaller than RC. No sofa area. Had spaces to put everything tho. Needed outlets on both sides of the bed. The bathroom outlet didn't work and had to be fixed. There is a big bright motion activated light just outside the bathroom! It shocks you in the middle of the night. Wakes you up good! Had that de-activated. Used a night light in the bathroom which is small soft light. Bring a night light. The shower did not drain well. Had to turn off the water and let it drain, then shower more, then turn off again, etc. It was finally fixed. THEN a few hours later at night we noticed a sewer stench coming from the bathroom! Had to call and get THAT fixed, which it was after a day of horrid smell. No compensation for any of these issues by the way. ALSO---besides BBC, the only news channels on TV were POLITICAL ones!! 95% of the guests were Americans. NEED ABC, or CBS, or NBC!!!! Need un-biased news!!! Please!!!
Ship tip
Be ready to go with the flow. They do not care if you have issues as far as compensation. They do fix the issues over time. Compared to RC, this is not as fun or upbeat.
Took the Best of Belize City Tour. DO NOT take this tour. Bus criss-crosses the city through lots of shabbyness. One stop was literally the BELIZE letters in a small area, to take a picture. Last stop is a gift shop/food court onlooking a small manmade circular beach. Then a kiddie train ride going too fast through historial barn. Old time sail boat had duct tape patch. The tour guide was fabulous though! Also unfortunately there were 4 ships here and the shuttle sesrvice couldn't handle us all. We sat waiting on a shuttle for 2 hours!! So started the tour late. Then got to the pier late, with THOUSANDS of others trying to get back to their ships!! Lines - the HOT sun - were thousands of people long!! It was a nightmare. We are old folks too. NO compensation given for enduring this fiasco either.
Took the excursion to Tabyana Beach. It was gorgeous! We were lucky, as we were the only ship in Roatan! People were friendly. The buffet lunch was most excellent! I got the recipe for the grilled chicken. Delicious!! Love the cold towels and flavored water Princess has by the ramp to the ship.
I would mostly agree, Princess is much cheaper than RC. Not so much silly activities. Much more mature acting staff. Real butter that is kept cold. Breakfast buffet not great. However, the desserts on Princess are amazing and RC’s look OK but don’t taste (only cruise I wouldn’t finish deserts, except apple blossom). But now you know to stay with RC, we all have different tastes. Princess won’t compensate you for cold butter.
I had the same problem with cold food on last Princess cruise. And not a fan of Belize! I think you just drew the short straw and should try Princess again. I hope you ended up having a mostly enjoyable time.
Well. So,e things I can understand…. But I must say…..the desserts on Princess ships in the Main dining rooms we find fabulous. Especially the Norman Love ones.
