Review summary

It was great to be back cruising. We had a great time and plan to do more this year. Princess is one of our "go to" cruise lines and they didn't disappoint. This was our first time on since they refurbished the ships and the Medallion app took some getting used to, but really enjoyed it by the end of the cruise. Ordering drinks from anywhere on the ship and the waiter finding you by GPS was amazing!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining rooms and specialty restaurant was fantastic. The buffet was good, but hit and miss on quality.

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The game shows and main events were very fun. Great comedian a couple of nights. The solo and duet performers were very talented. Didn't particularly like the house band Project 5.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff were top notch.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything seemed very clean. We often saw staff cleaning public areas such as wiping down hand rails.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The balcony cabin seemed small compared to some ships we have been on but it served its purpose.

Ship tip

Be sure and explore the ship fully the first day or two. We were still finding areas we hadn't seen the last day such as the Outrigger bar on the back of deck 16.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

Our excursion was good, but not the best we have been on. The Amber Cove area was nice.

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
The port area is great with a beach, large pool, Margaritaville, and lots of shopping. The island itself is very small with not much to see. We ate at one of the few restaurants on the Island which was good. Don't expect a lot of shopping or eating places. The little museum was very well done and we found it interesting.
