Review summary

This trip was my 1st experience working with Cruises dot com & representative Chuck A. He was great; quickly got all the required moving pieces & parts in place! He kept in touch & made sure all was well right up to departure. THANKS Chuck; we surely appreciate YOU & all you did for us. Finally, while this huge vessel carried 3600 passengers & 1200+ employees, we never felt crowded. But we also always took the steps & avoided the elevator banks, the casino & time assigned dining.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
The embarkation was the most poorly managed "problem-laden" process I have ever experienced. The port was chaos, the people working there were both unfriendly AND non-helpful. Security was simply a joke. I realize I am being harsh, but trust me when I say that I am totally sugar-coating this piece of the review. Will NEVER go thru Brooklyn port again.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Princess Regal has hospitality down to a fine science and art!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Fitness center was fantastic; well-equipped, extremely clean! Went there daily. The Enclave- at the Lotus Spa was heavenly-all types of water & aromatherapy and 3 different saunas. Was beautiful, quiet, peaceful & again extremely clean! Excellent experience there. Just walking all over the ship & taking in all of the gorgeous artwork & design was so much fun!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We did not go to the stage shows. But the music, orchestras & singers in the atrium were great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Again, the Princess staff -all, make you feel welcome everyday. Reminded me of better than being a kid at Disney World!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I was totally infatuated by the shop's stunning beauty...literally every surface was designed with inspire. I went around the entire ship taking pictures of floor coverings, lighting, railings, curtains..you name it. So Italian...made me think of the great Renaissance artists particularly Leonardo Da Vince!

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Perfect mid-ship position, lovely mini-suit gave 2 of us more space than we needed. Beautiful bed- Perfect sleeping. Yet oddly, the couch cushions were quite worn, so I guess I expected better seating. Otherwise, this mini-suit is perfect - close enough to everything, yet little traffic & no noise. Room was kept impeccably clean by Christine!

Ship tip

If you have cruised w/ Princess more than once like us (6 times, so Elite status), know what perks to expect because there ARE quite a few! So don't buy Internet access..it is included 😎. I know better now!

Ports of call

New York, New York Did not visit port

We arrived in NYC...Laquardia, same morning as embarkation. So just had time to take the transfer bus to the dock.

Newport, Rhode Island Did not visit port

Weather prevented us from visiting here because of high winds. Could not use the tenders. But no big deal. There are tons of things to do onboard!

Boston, Massachusetts

Went on huge catamaran of Wharf 1 to see Whales in the sanctuary waters! Humpbacks 🐋 were seen! Many!

Bar Harbor, Maine

5 out of 5
Beautiful, friendly folks, some great art galleries...easy walkable port. We did not plan any excursions here.

Saint John, New Brunswick Did not visit port

Again, bad weather. So we were unable to dock...but was not a big deal to us. No excursions were planned.

Halifax, Nova Scotia

Met friends who live here & toured both the city and the coastal coves. Peggy's Cove- established in 1811...was breathtaking! Worth the drive for sure!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was much better than getting on the ship, yet so many people disregarded the directions given a d dragged their own luggage ...maddeningly slowed all people down.
