Review summary

I really enjoyed this cruise, This was my favorite cruise that I have done. The itinerary was outstanding. The crew was great. We were unable to get into Falmouth, but got into Ocho Rios with minimal disruptions. I especially enjoyed the extra time in port in Cozumel. The one thing that bugged me were the people that try and save a lounger on sea days. That has more to do with people than it does with the cruise line in my opinion. My wife and I plan to do another Princess Cruise within the next year or two.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We received an e-mail asking us to arrive later in the day due to a Coast Guard inspection. We were unable to arrive any later than we did. When we did arrive, everything ran smoothly and there were minimal disruptions!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We were assigned the Concerto dining room and service was great. I never had any interactions with our head waiter which was rare in my past experiences. Our waiter and assistant waiter were great. The drinks were always on point and the food was superb. It always left me wanting more. My wife who is a rather picky eater was always able to find something to eat on the menu.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
There was always something to do on the ship. They always had something scheduled. I tried the fitness center once, but it was super busy. The pools were also always busy. I especially enjoyed the Movies Under The Stars! They had great movie selections.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We happened to be on Princess's Entertainer of the Year cruise. So 4 days out of the 7 featured one of their nominees for Entertainer of the Year. It was always a great show. We also enjoyed the music of Ella Ryan.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service staff that we dealt with were great. My wife and I were especially happy with our room steward.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I loved the layout of the ship. It was a typical design with a promenade in the center of the ship and plenty to do on the top two decks. The ship was always clean. I never saw an area where I thought to myself, someone needs to clean this area up.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our room was a minisuite. The bathroom had a tub shower and plenty of room. The rest of the room was spacious enough for two people to get ready for formal night without any issues. The view was spectacular.

Ship tip

Don't wait till the last day to do your laundry if you are going to use the self service laundry.

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

We did the dune buggies which were a lot of fun. I do wish the Island had jet skis. Other than that, the beach was spectacular. There were plenty of excursions. Our dune buggy excursion took us to some secluded beaches which were absolutely beautiful.

Falmouth, Jamaica Did not visit port

We were unable to make port due to weather, but we visited Ocho Rios instead and had a great time!

George Town, Grand Cayman

The turtle farm was awesome. Hell was cool, but really only needs to be a five minute stop. We did not have a chance to make it to Tortuga for the rum cake, but were able to make it to a rum cake place in Mexico. The swimming with the rays was awesome. The rays come right up to you. It was very packed and takes a while to get to the sandbar though. I do wish that our excursion was a bit longer so we could have made it to Tortuga to try their rum cake.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
This was my favorite port. We swam with the dolphins. With our port going from 10 am - 10 pm, there was plenty of time to do whatever we wanted. We swam with the dolphins and were able to change and spend some time in Cozumel for food and drinks. After 5, we were the only ship in port. This was great because we didn't have to deal with a crowd anywhere we went.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We did self disembarkation and were off the ship and out of customs by 7:30 am. While I didn't want to get off the ship, the process was pretty quick and efficient.
