I would go on this ship again. It was very enjoyable and the crew were all so nice and the captain very informative. It was nice cause only a few announcements were made during the day and they were necessary ones-not ones trying to get people to come to bingo or art auctions or whatever.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
For a port in NYC, they did a good job of embarkation.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
I only ate in the dining room twice cause I was eating at such odd times. The buffet was so good and the variety was amazing. Ate at Crown Grill one night and the steak was so good. Swirls, the ice cream place, also had popcorn at night. The guys working there were so fun -always smiling.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
There were fun activities through the day with various games and talks and the movies under the stars had football to watch so that was a fun thing to experience on that giant screen.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Only went to two shows and they were very good -not the production shows but guest performers. The only thing is people tended to get there super easy so for an 8 o'clock show, finding a seat at 7:40 was almost impossible so go early or maybe the later show wasn't so bad seat wise.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward was great. Knew us by name after meeting us and always called out to us and had a big smile for us. Kept our cabin spotless. The waiters we encountered were good.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Some floors didn't have hallways all the way through which was odd and the elevators only had buttons on one side which was very odd but other than that, the layout was good. The Sea Walk on deck 16 was so unique. Especially pretty at night looking down and up from the Promendade deck.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
I did not see anything obstructed about our cabin-had great views out the front and our balcony was big.
Ship tip
This is a big ship so if you don't like that, don't book this ship but it honestly never felt that crowded.
Beautiful port. Unfortunately by the time we were on our second mansion tour, it starting raining hard and was very windy so we did not venture into town when we were dropped off. Too bad cause the town looked so pretty and would be worth exploring if wasn't pouring rain.
Our excursion was cancelled due to Columbus Day things going on so we took a bus to Quincy Market and walked around there and ate and it was enjoyable.
Didn't do a shore excursion here either. Went to the Maritime Museum which was very interesting. Beautiful boardwalk to walk around on and see the sights of this pretty port.
Very easy except for the snippy people working the lines at customs. I know they were trying to get the lines to move but they could have been nicer about it.
What a very detailed but accurate review of the Princess. Have to say the point about the officers and crew were spot on. It’s true about the minimal announcements during the day. Great job and thanks.
I know what you are saying. I really dislike the shipwide announcements asking us to attend "whatever". So yesterday! Glad you enjoyed your time on the Regal Princess.
That’s another reason I love Princess! They assume their passengers can read the Princess Patter on their own and plan out their day without announcement! Makes things a little more relaxing. 😎🍸
