Love this ship, we did... by jimchris71

Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Love this ship, we did the 17 night Trans Pacific cruise from Sydney to Honolulu last year and had a great time. Plenty of things to do onboard, great entertainment and food, if you didn’t want to see a show or movie you could laze around in one of the many bars or on deck. We had a balcony cabin on deck 10 toward the front of the ship which was quite comfortable for the size and the view from the balcony was fantastic, although slightly blocked by the wheelhouse. We booked an excursion at most of the ports, which gave us a chance to see places we would not otherwise have seen. Although these trips are somewhat rushed they were nonetheless good value and you got to see some of the different cultures and people from each port visited. I would have to say that Bora Bora was by far our favourite stop, it is such a beautiful Island and the people were very friendly. We are both looking forward to our next cruise on the Radiance in February 2020 which is an 18 night bottom end trip from Fremantle Western Australia visiting Adelaide, Melbourne, Hobart and New Zealand then back to Sydney. CAN’T WAIT.

Sydney-Honolulu adventure! by 777cds

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Transpacific

Popular shore excursions get booked out fast. To be flexible in organising more boats / busses if possible to accommodate high demand. also have a waitlist in case there are cancellations. Overall the cruise was as imagined, as expected and delighted us immensely. We look forward to more days at sea with Royal Carribbean.

This cruise was cancelled due to mechanical issues. It was dry docked Newcastle during this time. Royal Caribbean has refunded all monies paid and also given cruisers a Credit Voucher for another cruise equal to that originally paid. Thanks Royal Caribbea by ShirleyNuss

After our third RC cruise... by Cadrat62

Sail date: /
Ship: Radiance of the Seas

After our third RC cruise we were left a little wanting after the 11 night around New Zealand Cruise. Mini Bar has been removed along with tea and coffee making facilities in the cabins. Only one drinks package is available with alcohol which leaves light to moderate drinkers out of pocket. A typical Sav Blanc is $14 (USD) + 18% gratuity = $20.15 for a glass of wine we pay $12 (AUD) per bottle at the local bottle shop.!!! 😡😡😡😡. (Kim Crawford Sav Blanc) So the drinks prices have increased by about 35% since our last RC cruise 2 years ago. The food in Windjammer was surprisingly very good as was the main Dining Room. We also went to 3 of the 4 specialty restuarants. Chops Grill being the stand out and Samba being the dissapointment. The staff were attentive and helpful as always however some were almost begging for good reviews and tips toward the end. Didn't do any of the shore excursions as they were ridiculously overpriced and found it easy to just walk off and get a local tour operator at each stop. All in all it was a good holiday but I think we've become a bit jaded with RC and will look at others for our next cruise.

Lovely ship, had a great time even though it was rainy cold and overcast much of the time in New Zealand. The crew do a heap to make your time great. The dining room waiters were fantastic, thanks Nick and Kadek. 4 stars for Radiance of the seas.

Enjoyable sailing on Radiance by Jubes44

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

Overall we had a very good time on the ship, the food was excellent as was our wait service. My only complaint was with the location of our room the noise at night, it was very loud. There were live bands every night until almost midnight. They really need to do something about this and change it.

Awesome family holiday by thermiecarmie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific - Australia

This was our first cruise and we all just loved it. Being able to do eat anytime and so much good stuff to do on board. I'm not sure I would bother paying for a balcony next time. We only used it for wet togs! We will definitely do another cruise.

Ship: Radiance of the Seas

NZ cruise was great, but 14 days was a little long on the radiance of the seas. We needed more things to do, as we aren’t the sit down and relax for too long type . Room 1052 was great and in a good spot , lots of room and storage space .

Not What I Expected by haybrocor

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Australasia

We did enjoy our cruise to NZ and I would highly recommend this itinerary. I would advise to be careful of your choice of ship if you are travelling with children. This was our first Royal Carribean cruise and I was a little disappointed. The staff were wonderful and I could not fault the service, however the lack of entertainment relevant to anyone under the age of 60 was an issue for us. The ship, whilst very clean, is also looking quite tired. The food was good with many options available in the Windjammer. The dining room food was also good, if you were okay about the wait. We felt Radiance is a ship more fitting for adults. The glass elevators were lovely and the view out to the ocean from just about anywhere on the ship was lovely. There is a lot that was great with the cruise, but equally a few negatives for us as a family.

Be careful about what you apend on board. Spent 12000 on Art and found that they had put over 22000 on hold. DOUBLE WHAT I OWED took me a while week unable to pay my bills. They got their money but I still could not use the credit card... ALL I GOT WAS A LAME APOLOGY... NEVER USE R ROYAL CARIBBEAN AGAIN.
