A Week's Worth of Great! by DianaQ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I went on a week's cruise for the first time in our life. I couldn't believe how wonderful the ship was. The bed in our balcony cabin was so comfortable it was difficult to leave it in the mornings. From the time we got up until the time (very late) that we went to bed, I loved every moment of being on the ship. We took this opportunity to go to the Park West Auctions and buy some artwork. It was so much fun and very educational. Dinners were fabulous and our waiters were great. The captain was involved in a lot of activities and he was so funny and entertaining. It appeared that he truly loved what he did. I loved the idea of having a separate adult only pool (even the water was freezing). It was great to not be disturbed by excited kids. All in all, I can't wait to do it again.

Overall impression was good. I did find customer relations to be unresponsive and at times difficult to deal with.

Fun Cruise by JimL18

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Embarkation was quick and easy. Our Room was a balcony at the very back of the boat. This was the first time we booked a balcony at the back of the boat and it was very private. The ony draw back is that the Radiance doesn't have an aft elevator so you have to walk to mid ship. The ship was clean, the staff was friendly and the shipboard activities were fun. I left wanting to cruise again soon.

Great time! by DeniseU

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Rad of seas is a beautiful ship. Service was excellent. Food was very good considering the amount of people served daily. The staff was attentive and everything you come to expect from a cruise. This was my 5th cruise, a first time for my traveling companion. We had a balcony room which made the accommodation seem larger. The bathroom was a bit snug, but, to be expected. Most shore excursions, except for Grand Cayman, were easy and affordable. Grand Cayman is a disaster insofar as organization is concerned. We actually gave up and went back aboard ship. Our money was refunded without a hitch. What we saw of the entertainment aboard, we enjoyed. We spent much of our time in the casino, (as well as our money) All in all, I highly recommend Royal Car. as a cruise line and Radiance of the Seas as a ship.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was the first time we cruized. We loved the ship. The service was outstanding. Althought we would make different choices the next time we cruise we enjoyed the ship tremendouly. They keep the ship so clean. The food was out standing. The service impeckable. We felt like royalty. The rooms were bigger than expected. The balcony was roomy and was so beautiful when arriving or leaving port. Entertainment was great busy every day. Always something to do. Casino dealer were so friendly and helpful. Never stopped could not get enough.

It was a fantastic cruise. by CharlesF4

The weather was really nice and overall a good cruise. The Bacardi tour in San Juan was a little disappointing. Expected to see more of the distillery. Some tours were over priced for what we got. I think next time we would plan our own excursions. Enjoyed the mini golf and the casino. We won some but ended up giving it all back.

The Royal treatment by RobinD7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We have been on several RCCL ships. This ship, The Radiance was very clean, and very well decorated. Our stateroom was the best we have ever stayed in. The staff was very polite and very friendly. On other ships we have found on the last day, the staff gets a little anxious to get the passengers off, but not this one. Disembarking was a breeeze. I have nothing bad to say about this ship.

A very enjoyable cruise by LisaP7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We just got back from a 6 night cruis eon the Radiance of the Seas and we loved it. The ship itself was beautiful. The windjammer had excellent breakfast and lunch with alot of different options but also kept some of the same standards each day like salad, fruit, omelets and sandwiches. The seaview cafe on deck 12 was also very good. They had snacky type food (fish and chips, onion rings, ruben snadwiches) for what we called our mid-afternoon snack. They also had milkshakes (for an extra cost) that were quite delicious. We ate at the cascades dining room each night, our waiter and asst waiter were very attentive and fun. The dinner meals were also very good. The midnight buffett on the fifth night of the cruise was absoloutly beautiful but we didn't eat any b/c the line was too long. The check in was fast and efficient, possibly the quickest we've experienced.

Peaceful and relaxing cruise by DavidJ7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Showing it's age a bit / small shopping area and other amenities. We stayed on the back of the ship and was not aware the nearest steps or elevator were at mid-ship or approximately 150' to 200' away. The rooms showed their age (a bit small) and required rounded beds to allow walking around the beds. I'm 6'4" and with this type of bed, it left the bed much shorter than my height. A wonderful cruise ship if one is new at cruising, but doesn't stand up to the new modern ships. Could not recommend this ship to long time cruiser, until possibly stretched or overhauled.

Wonderful by MargaretT1

The ship was very clean. The Captain was extremely nice. The cabin was large enough for cothes and we had ample room to move around. The balcony was something we enjoyed very much.
