Review summary

Overall quite a relaxing cruise. Ship was of a decent lick after it’s 2018 refit. Though there really isn’t much to do. Would have hoped for a better casino and more variety of entertainment, as well as better onboard activities. Kudos to wait staff in restaurants, very pleasant. Ladies in pursers office need some customer service training.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Would have given it 5 stars had the embarkation staff not forcefully categorize me, a Hong Kong citizen, as someone who comes from mainland china and thus considered a health risk.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Princess grill was wonderful, was well served by the staff. Special mention to Stanley the maitre’d, Ionel the head waiter, Ryan, Nell and Rhomel the waiters.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
This is where Cunard lags behind other major cruise lines. Very few activities onboard. Most activities outdated. Not to mention the super tiny casino, only 4 tables!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Could be better, low on Quality compared to other cruise lines.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
Kids loved it, though putting on a movie every night doesn’t really require much work for the staff....

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Generally high standard apart from grumpy pursers desk staff.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleaner than most reviews suggested, though the pipes above the balcony in rooms could do with proper painting.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Pretty comfortable, dividers on balcony need quieting as they slap around in the wind while sailing.

Ship tip

Definitely go for suite class.

Ports of call

Melbourne, Australia

3 out of 5
Long walk disembarking to public area.

Adelaide, Australia

4 out of 5
Nice city with the wineries.

Hobart, Tasmania, Australia

4 out of 5
Try blue seas seafood. Delicious.

Burnie, Tasmania, Australia

3 out of 5
Small town with two main streets, nothing much to do unless you book a tour to cradle mountains

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Efficient but long walk from pier to carpark

Cunard have had 180 years of providing White Star service and old world charm of the golden age of liners and are not known for 'floating theme parks' Albeit that the casino is small from your review it sounds like you still enjoyed your time aboard one of the greatest ocean liners in the world.

Cunard isn’t known for its entertainment, rather it’s billed as being opulent and like old fashioned cruising used to be.
