Review summary

Very pleasant cruise with a modern clean ship. Just don’t expect the splendor or opulence of other ships.

Some were good but others lacking. The Pride and Prejudice sort of show was way too long and people began leaving halfway through.

Ship Quality

The ship was brand new and clean but the basic layout was irritating. The very low ceilings created a confined atmosphere even in the lobby and Queens Room. The casino/bar area spilled out into the main walkway creating traffic jams as people were trying to walk to the other venues. The biggest complaint was the restricted Grilles area the occupied the middle of the top two decks. The majority of guests had to go down two decks then back up to get to the front or back of the ship. One day they closed the Pavilion pool area for a private event making people go down three decks.

I was a travel agent for seventeen years and advised clients never go book a cruise on a new ship in its first year. That being said, based on this review, Cunard has done a pretty good job with the service which will only improve as the crew gets its "sea legs". The design with the Grill Dining & Lounge area is a mistake unless you're in those accommodations. I do prefer the modified "Vista" twins, QV & QE.
