Great way to see and experience Hawaii, but I would choose a different cruise line if possible. We were disappointed with NCL and it this was our 1st cruise with them, it would definitely be the last.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Fast and easy. Was pleasantly surprised there was no lines, no waiting. We checked in around 2pm.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Comparing to other NCL cruises we've been on and any other cruise lines (including Carnaval) food on this ship was THE worst, especially at the buffet. The food was lukewarm at best and the selection was minimal. Dining rooms were a little better, but nothing compared to other cruises.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
We didn't do many activities on the ship, our focus was to explore Hawaii as much as possible.
Entertainment

Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Service was good.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
The ship was clean, but I do wish it was better maintained so we wouldn't have been stuck in Hilo and miss Kona and a day in Kauai due to mechanical issues.

Ship tip
Keep your expectations low. Pick a different itinerary if you plan on spending most of your time on the ship. Hope and pray the weather and the ship condition will hold while you're there so you can see and do everything you want/planned.
Came in the day before the cruise, visited Pearl Harbor (private, not thru NCL). Took an NCL excursion after the cruise (North side of Oahu with airport drop off), it was OK, but I would like to have more stops along the way, not just a commercial traps.
We rented a car the 1st day and drove to Haleakala national park. Would highly recommend it. The 2nd day we took a half road to Hana (private excursion) with Maui Taxi. Again, would HIGHLY recommend the company and the tour.
Didn't have enough time because we lost a while day due to mechanical issues with the ship. The weather wasn't great, beaches were closed because of recent flooding.
Sorry you all suffered greatly. But it wasn’t Covid! that’s what canceled our cruise few years ago and that was supposed to be our anniversary cruise. But we are looking forward to it and a few weeks! This is the Cruisen way of life. Unfortunately, that happens to a lot of people.
