Review summary

It was totally unacceptable ship. Should not be called NCL! I paid for 4 balcony cabins, 8550, 8566, 8568, 8570, for my family but felt embarrassed.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food was o.k. But the service was not friendly.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Almost none other than a open pool.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
The worst I have ever experienced on any ship. Many movies and movies.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
Realized that it is a problem because of the mandatory gratuity plan. Not many friendly smiling workers. Only one cleaning visit to a room each day!!! Some had attitude problems.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
It is an old ship filled with bars, specialty restaurants, stores to make money. Very difficult to get around. There were housekeeping junks on the hallways all times.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
A little smaller than others. Cleaned only once a day. Never changed sheets. There were always large trash bags and cleaning kits on the narrow hallways. It would have been impossible to pass for wheel-chairs.

Ship tip

Paid almost 3 times compared to other 7 day cruises for the worst ship/service. This ship should not be a part of NCL!

I agree with RogueWaveRider. I am terrible at golf but one of my favorite sayings is “a bad day at golf is better then a good day in the office”. We are going on the Sep ‘25 cruise. We priced out island hopping on our own and determined this cruise will be cheaper and much more relaxing. We determined there would be so much anxiety and we would waste so much time in packing, unpacking with new hotel reservations, picking up and dropping off rental cars, not to mention transportation between islands. The ship is really a floating home base where we can eat and sleep between adventures.

You wouldn’t have been disappointed if you read one of the multitude of reviews just like yours for that ship. It is what it is. Research before purchase.

Norwegian only cleans cabins once a day fleet wide unless you are in The Haven. It has been standard practice for almost a year now. The reason cruise fares on Pride of America are so much higher than other Norwegian itineraries is because there is no casino, the crew is 75% American, and EVERYONE onboard the ship (crew and staff) are being paid US minimum wages as well as overtime for anything over eight hours. As far as lack of onboard entertainment, you are in Hawaii on a port intensive itinerary with over 100 hours to see the four islands. Honestly cannot believe anyone wouldn't be happy to be traveling alongside family and friends cruising the Hawaiian Islands. As the Hawaiian's like to say "hoʻomaha a hoʻomaha"
