I think I would take this cruise again and see different excursion’s the next time!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth and we were on the ship within 20 minutes!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The food in every venue that we ate in was excellent.
Skyline Restaurant
5 out of 5
We had excellent service and food the server Sara was great! She had a recommendation for every meal and she was spot on!
Jefferson's Bistro
5 out of 5
Food was excellent and the service was top notch!
Cagney's Steakhouse
5 out of 5
It’s actually called Cagney’s now! We ate there twice and the food was great!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The lei making classes were excellent and were a lot of fun.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
What we saw was okay the fact that they only have two shows that are only done once during the cruise is a little disappointing. The musicians were very good and honestly didn’t get to hear the DJs.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Everyone we had contact with was excellent and the service level was as good or better than the previous cruises I have been on.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
This ship was designed to be in a port every day, therefore there are not a lot of the amenities that are on the newer ships. That said the ship was well maintained and the common areas were clean and it was decorated well for the upcoming Christmas season.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Cabin was very clean and the layout wasn’t too bad. Really liked that there was a coffee maker in the room and our cabin steward was very responsive and took care of all of our requests. The rooms are a little smaller than what I was used to but very serviceable.
Ship tip
This cruise is all about the itinerary and not the ship. If you are wanting water slides and wave riders and go karts this is not the cruise for you. I don’t know what the refit in April will bring but it certainly will be exciting.
I think if I went back to Hawaii again this would be the port I would like to visit again. This island is remarkable with the variety of of climates and the landscapes. The directors cut excursion was probably the best excursion of the trip. Saw the places that were used in the motion pictures and in some television shows.
Great port and the excursion was very informative. Took the Kona Mocha tour. Learned all about the chocolate making process from growing the cacao pods to the actual making of the chocolate. The coffee part of this tour was also very informative from growing the beans through the roasting process.
We probably picked the wrong excursion in Hilo the Volcanoes National Park tour was not was represented in the Cruise line write up of this excursion. Things that had been closed for two years are still listed as highlights on the excursion. Way overpriced for what you get.
