Review summary

Having been on two prior cruises this was a huge disappointment. The food was horrible, the waitstaff at the restaurants and bars were oftentimes rude and dismissive, we oftentimes had only cold water while showering, and we had to pay for water as you were not allowed to get drinking water outside of the dining area without purchasing bottled water. The entertainment was mediocre, the sound system on the ship was garbled the majority of the time, and did I mention the food was HORRIBLE?! I would not recommend NCL cruises to anyone, anywhere, anytime.

This cruise is AMAZING!!! The ship is older, but you are in Hawaii!!!! We would definitely do this cruise again!!! The food was great and so were the shows!!! The staff was also great....there were a few sour apples in the service, but nothing that ruined our trip!!!!

Thank you all as we are booked for September 17 th and some reviews are so scary. I have never seen such different opinions. We don’t expect the food to be the same class as certain other lines we have taken but felt they must have good pineapple at least! We are in our 70s and use to family vacation regularly here and thought this would be a nice way to recap some memories .

We just came off POA for our third time with her and I think you must've been in a different dimension of the twilight zone. First, this cruise is not at all about the ship, it's about the Hawaiian itinerary period! You won't find a more spectacular ship itinerary than this one. If it's about the ship and food for you then go on a Disney cruise. Water is ALWAYS available for FREE by either bar service or walking your rear end up to the water dispenser with your glass. We always had water or free lemonade or juice. The food was fine. We ate in the main dining rooms nightly and buffet for breakfast and lunch. Karaoke was a blast. Magician was entertaining and funny, staff was outstanding and professional. The cruise is what you make of it and with the attitude you portray. DON'T let the negative reviews deter anyone from taking this amazing cruise. We love it and Will be back again. It's been our favorite of all the cruise itineraries we've been on. Attitude is everything!

We were on POA Nov 2017. Enjoyed the entire cruise, although with many negative reviews we were skeptical. Staff was friendly, food was fine. This was our 5th ncl cruise. We took cups/snacks or whatever we wanted to our cabin. It was a great way too see Hawaiian islands without paying $200.00 a night for a hotel. We would definitely consider going again.

The bar would have given you a glass of water. Or you could have refilled at the water fountains on deck 6 walking track. Agree entertainment was not good, but the POA is about Hawaii - not the ship. We thought bar staff and service was actually pretty good.

I’m sorry you didn’t have a good time:-( we were on her in 2014 and we had a great time. I do think that the ship could use a major remodel and update along with better entertainment. But we enjoyed the food and with the heavy port days we didn’t mind the lack of entertainment. NCL’s newer ships are amazing:-)
