Was a great way to see all the islands and find out which islands we liked, and which islands would consider visiting again.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
We arrived later after taking a tour in Honolulu, due to the first day of the cruise being cancelled and we had absolutely no wait or issues.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
The Aloha Café had a very nice variety of dishes everyday. The main dining room was okay with nothing that I would go to a restaurant order, very plain! We expected more seafood (not Salmon) being in Hawaii and on a cruise. We ate the East Meets West Restaurant where we had sushi which was good and shared 3 other dished which were not good at all!!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The fitness center was very nice with ample equipment to work up a nice sweat.
The pool at the back of the ship was a great place to relax with a view.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
We went to the early shows and saw the Magician, Comedian, musical show review and the Tribute to the Eagles which were all pretty good.
Children's Programs
We were not traveling with Children
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Our Room Steward Tommy was very attentive and great!
Our main dining server Sue took great care of us making sure we had everything we needed and more.
The wait staff at East Meets West was not good (waiter & staff), they all seemed overwhelmed and made us aware that they were overwhelmed and busy. Something's were trivial but added to a poor experience, such as, bringing our Wine in crafts w/ no glasses, forgetting about our food, taking our NCL card to bill us for the wine but forgetting the sushi (we reminded them) and then forgetting to return our NCL card causing me to have to return back to the restaurant to retrieve.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The Ship was good, clean and had ample space to either be alone or mingle with others, we did both.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was surprisingly larger than expected with plenty of storage space for everything.
Bed was a little firm for my liking but comfortable. Overall a good clean space.
Ship tip
Arrive early on deck to get a good spot to see the Volcano Lava flow during the evening sail to Kona from Hilo, and to see the Na Pali Coast on the sail back to Honolulu.
We rented a Jeep and drove all over the island as it rained almost all day.
Made it to the Maui Winery, Upupalakua Ranch Store, drove along the West coast which was beautiful but totally different landscape from the rest of Maui. we also drove up to Haleakala national park in the fog and rain and then we drove to Ho'opkipa Beach park where we saw some sea turtles and one crazy surfer in the huge waves and pouring rain.
We did the volcano and island adventure tour with C Big island Tours, it was a great tour.....be sure you get Edmond as tour guide. We saw the black sand beach, Volcano Crater / Jaggar Museum, Steam vents, Lava Tube, Macadamia nut factory, Orchid Garden and rainbow falls.
We took a small private excursion and saw Kahalu'u bay, Lekeleke burial grounds, Kona Coffeee farm, Kealakekua Historical park, Chocolate Factory (Donkey Balls) and had a Mia Tia at Paradise Brewing Co. and the sun was out for the first day!!
We rented a Jeep and Drove toward Princeville but unfortunately the Bridge to the beach. We detoured and saw the lighthouse, many waterfalls before driving up to the 1st look out at Waimea Canyon where we saw nothing but rain and clouds. However, there were plenty of places to stop on the way up and down with breath taking views. on the way back we stopped off for a tasting Kauai Coffee and to see the spouting horn.
