Review summary

Overall, the ship is beautiful. It is large with many differing spaces and options. At the same time, its not so big that it becomes overwhelming. It's not the biggest or the most elegent ship, but its really very comfortable and perfect for these Hawaii cruises.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We really enjoyed the variety of restaurants. We went to a different restaurant every night and enjoyed each one of them. We heard some complaints about the food, however, our experience was just about all positive. The only exception was the Cadilac Diner. It serves it's purpose of being convenient and very casual, however, we found the food to be very "diner" like...nothing special. The friendly and professional staff in the specialty restaurants was especially enjoyable. We especially enjoyed the staff of the Lazy J.....

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We enjoyed the entertainment particularly the evening shows. I would say the quality was not quite up to some of the other cruises, however, it was definitely entertaining and served its purpose. Someone on this cruise needs to keep in mind that much of the cruise is focused on the locations you are visiting on not quite as much on the onboard entertainment. The one extremely disappointing aspect of the ship was their internet rates. Particularly on this rainy cruise, the option of using the internet would have been nice, however, the prices for going online were so outrageous that I wouldn't have even considered it. I could have easily spent $100 in one afternoon on the internet.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We found the friendliness and helpfulness of the crew to be excellent. While there is a different feel from the American crew versus an international crew, we enjoyed the more relaxed and at times more casual feel of the US based staff.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is very well kept. It was always clean in all areas. It was decorated for Christmas which added to the overall decor of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We found a really good price on a balcony cabin and thoroughly enjoyed it. The open space, the option of enjoying the view in private, or just checking on the outside temperature made it a wonderful convenience. The stateroom was kept cleaned and stocked. We were on the 9th level which was convenient both to the pools and buffet on 11 and not too far from the dining rooms on 5 or 6.

Ports of call

Kahului, Maui

Hilo, Hawaii

Nawiliwili, Kauai

We live on Kauai, so these were ship days for us. We remained on the ship and enjoyed relaxing.

Pros: The variety of restaurant options.

Cons: The weather (nothing they could do about that).
