Review summary
Thought I ate way too much (food was very good) but must have got enough exercise as I lost 5lbs when I got home. Lots of activities to choose from during at sea days. Staff friendly and easy to approach with concerns. Did need to see ship medical and they were wonderful! (I managed to get bronchitis from all the heavy walking during 2 excursions)
Embarkation

Very easy and so fast!!! I’m sure it helped that there were already many people staying on from previous cruise! We joined in starting with shuttle pick up from Rome airport. After a long ride, everything else was so quick and hardly any wait then were were off to our stateroom 😁
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate mostly at The Club main dining (in Club Class) which was very nice. Loved having the daily interaction with same staff! The food was very good - especially dinner! We ate one night at the Sterling and had a wonderful experience with awesome aged fillet beef and some of their specialty salt. The parmesan fries were the best I’ve had. Service great at The Sterling too. We did buffet a couple times and it was ok. Better if you got there when opening for meal times. My big gripe was the buffet scrambled eggs were always ‘loose’ but I liked fried eggs and they had people for omelets and fried eggs if you were willing to wait a few minutes. Variety was plenty and staff helpful in the buffet.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We played Bingo, did crafts, used the library, listened to enrichment programs (too chilly for us in pool). Cabaret Lou Gehrig’s shows were all nice too. Staff always helpful and polite
Entertainment

Musicians were all great!!!! Comedians were funny and ship dancers were good and eager to please.
Service and Staff

Great service from all waiters!! Our main dining guy, always was checking that we were happy and enjoying ourselves. One night, I felt really bad (was sick with sinus infection) and he insisted on bringing a meal up to me! He took great care of me with good recommendations.
Our room steward seemed a bit ‘rough’ initially but warmed up very quickly and was a huge help to us!!! (I think it was not his intention to sound ‘rough.’ But instead, just his culture. Once we got to know each other better, he was a great resource and help (especially when I got sick mid-cruise)!
Bar tenders in the Casino Bar were great at remembering favorite drinks! (I usually had water or Coke Zero).
Ship Quality

Very clean. I always saw someone cleaning common areas on the ship.
Loved the ship design!!! It was great to navigate the boat so easily ( and in quick time)
Cabin / Stateroom

Room was nice. Taken care of well and clean. Bed was actually very comfy and my back never bothered me. Room was hard to regulate temperature but, to be fair, it was warmer each day as we got closer to Fort Lauderdale.
I forgot to take photo of our room but, it was just like the photo on website.
We hardly knew anyone else was around because the room was so quiet (guessing walls were insulated well)
Ship tip
If you have mobility issues, ask careful questions about the excursions. There is a rating of 3 types mobility given but, ... I think a better description could state if you may be walking uphill much, if a steep incline, if uneven walkways and even if the bus has tall narrow steps. (I observed one bus shuttle operator get upset with a man in a transfer wheelchair who struggled to climb in and go up spiral steps). Not sure why there was not a better vehicle available for him
Loved seeing the wartime tunnels and the monkeys. Also found time to go shop at the Marks & Spencer’s and the Morrison’s (to get my UK fix). People very friendly helping us navigate the confusing roads.
A bit of construction around the port but walkable and enjoyed walking around the port area and immediate areas. Several Christmas markets were around to look through
