Perfect Weather for an Alaska Cruise May 2023 by RoyalCruiser100

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

My favorite cruise so far. It was nice to spend time with family in a serene setting. So many food options to choose from. I definitely never made a decision on an empty stomach. Loved relaxing in the Jacuzzi every night I could. Will never forget the great dining experience on this trip.

8 day May, 2023 Alaska by cmtaunt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

Beautiful ship, high-quality shows, good itinerary. Fair food quality/variety. Staff too overworked/short staffed to provide individualized service that was recently RCI standard. TERRIBLE embarkation in Vancouver!

Spectacular Scenery by raven303

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

Waited four years to do this tour due to covid conflicts and travel concerns with health during this time, but would highly recommend the trip. Very expensive, but worth it. Will never leave from Vancouver port ever again based on experience we had this time.

Alaska is worth seeing once, but don't waste your money on this cruise by bienkowskited

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

Shirl Schiff and I waited 3 years to take this cruise and it was such a let down. We had three scheduled cruises cancelled because of Covid so we were excited to sail again. In the past, we sailed on RC's Anthem of the Seas (twice), Allure of the seas, Radiance of the Seas and have sailed on other ships from several other cruise lines. All of our other experiences have been from great to amazing!. This cruise? It is hard to share anything positive about this ship or our experience on it because it was such a disaster. The food was terrible and the drinks were even worse. In all, the ports we visited were very underwhelming. One would expect a vacation to be relaxing and enjoyable, however this cruise was none of those things. We were left frustrated and disappointed.

Relaxing trip, plenty to do and excellent food. A Cigar lounge with Whisky would have been the icing...

Relaxing and Lovely by vmassoli

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

The Hawaiian Islands were spectacular. The 5 days at sea weren’t as bad as I anticipated. Fairly smooth in fact. It was too cold with no sun all 5 days which was disappointing but uncontrollable. There were many activities offered on the ship since outdoor activities weren’t possible.

New Zealand Cruise Is A Wonderfu Adventure by

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

This is a great cruise itenarary if you want to get a sample of ports of New Zealand. One disappointment was that Royal Caibbean at onbe time offered Hobart, Tasmania as a port of call. On should also be aware that you may experience rough seas, but a ship such as the Ovation of the Seas can handle it fairly well, and that is part of the adventure.

WORST CRUISE DO NOT DO IT!!!! by YankGirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas

We were forced by RC to chose this cruise as they cancelled our original cruise to the South Pacific and would not refund our money. We had already made all of our trip arrangements when they cancelled the cruise and so we had limited options of RC cruises that fit our schedule. The service, food, activities and entertainment were subpar. The adult section is so small that the pool is basically a giant tub and the restaurant space is limited. There were 1,700 children under the age of 18 on this cruise which made it a zoo. The activities for adults were lame, i.e. how to fold a napkin or make a towel animal. The weather prevented us from going to 2 of the 3 ports and so we were basically stuck on the cruise from hell. RC didn't make any special accommodations for passengers to make up for missing the 2 ports. The excursion prices were ridiculous. We were sick of cold food, poor service (dining) and lack of entertainment/activities and couldn't wait to disembark. Another passenger who had cruised for years told me this is typical for RC in Australia to have subpar food, activities, service, etc. DON"T GO!

Polynesia and down under fun by rcederholm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Transpacific

We love long cruises with sea days and the quantum class is a perfect ship for this. We were disappointed that Bora Bora was cancelled but the extra day in Moreea was excellent. We loved all three New Zealand stops and sailing in to Sydney was amazing.

Great cruise to Hawaii from Vancouver on Ovation of the Seas by toma114

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

Fantastic time on Ovation of the Seas from Vancouver to Hawaii. It is evident that cruising is back, because the ship was at capacity and felt crowded at times. Still, on such a big ship, we could always find space for what we wanted to do - and could get decent seats in shows if we got there early enough. Food was decent, and drinks were always good. Staff rocks !

Wonderful inspite of complications by danielvenzke

Ship: Ovation of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Physical limitations developed during cruise which severely limit my participation in planned excursions and on ship activities. A diabetic crisis prevented enjoying most menu offerings.
