Beautiful boat, average food and we love Alaska! We highly recommend to book your excursions through , they were cheaper than Royal and exceeded our expectations! Compare for yourself and you will see too!

Embarkation

When boarding for a cruise in Vancouver, allow 2+ hours to board unless you are super early. They were very unorganized and it showed in the almost 3 hours to board the ship. Each section had a very long line and they would cross each other in some areas. We went from station to station with very long snaked lines to get to each area. One port employee moved us into a different room only to move us back to where we were 10 min later. When checking to RCL, the RCL employee left as soon as we walked up and never said a word about it. We had to get another employee to find where he went and never found him. So they brought in another employee to finally check us in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The breakfast in the Windjammer each morning was the same but you can only do so much for breakfast. Lunch in the Windjammer had more variety.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
My mother-inlaw and my daughter did the iFly onboard and said it was awesome.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to the main show, juggler and the comedian and they were all great. The only show that was sub-par was Spectras Cabaret.

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
My daughter loved the teen area, a place were she could relax. She also really liked the Hush parties in the evening.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
We had my time dining which we had 3 different wait staff which was different from all of our other cruises. They seemed to be under staffed with the waiters covering a larger section than what we were used to and it was reflected in the wait time for drinks and refills. Room steward did a nice job and followed through on the things we requested like unlocking our joining room and door and balcony divider.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Beautiful ship and it was clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The sofa is a bit uncomfortable but the room was a few feet larger than other balconies we have been in.

Ship tip

Be prepared to not be blown away with the quality of food on this ship, it was very average.

My wife booked private excursions through cheapcruises.com. We did the Bear and Raptor Center Sanctuary, it was really great.

My wife booked private excursions through cheapcruises.com. We chartered a private boat for whale watching. The boat was brand new and we got to see 2 whales and a lot of sea lions. Shoutout to Captain Preston for making this an awesome adventure!

Skagway, Alaska

5 out of 5
My wife booked private excursions through cheapcruises.com. We took a shuttle bus which is the size of an airport shuttle with about 15 of us on the bus all the way up into the Yukon in Canada 75 miles away from Skagway. We had a nice lunch and our driver was an awesome tour guide. He dropped us off at the train station where the White Pass Train makes its decent to Skagway. We really loved the train.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

3 out of 5
Did not make it to see the glacier. There were too many icebergs in the water at that time of year.

Ketchikan, Alaska

We booked the Lumberjack Show from NCL. We have seen it before but it was new for the kids, they enjoyed it.

Disembarkation

Went faster than expected even though we had the 8:30am time but they didn't announce our group number until about 9am.
