Review summary

This was our first Royal Caribbean Cruise and it did not disappoint.  The Ovation of the Seas is one of the largest cruise ships with over 4000 passenger capacity. We were worried about waiting in lines but did not need to - we booked at Silk for 6pm everynight and walked straight in.  I guess it depends when you travel - there could be queues in peak holiday times - reading other reviews, I see this was an issue.

The Fine Dining Restaurants were elegant in décor and service was impeccable - we went to Jamie's Italian for a long table lunch it was amazing!

We loved spending time in two70 watching the ocean and relaxing.

I took some instant coffee for the cabin - there are teabags supplied but no coffee.

Overall the trip was amazing - we are hoping to go again late December.

Entertainment

Book in for everything before you board if you can. Pixels is amazing!

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Not applicable - not travelling with children. However, I was surprised that there is a designated "smoking area" right near the children's pool - my kids would hate this and probably complain about it...

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our Table staff remembered our names and dietary requirements and provided entertainment after dinner in the form of card tricks and puzzles.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was larger than expected and plenty of room for clothes. Plenty of hooks in the bathroom - very handy. I never saw the cabin staff but they were amazing with the fancy towel folding. They must have checked our room at intervals during the day because the bed was always tidied up.

Ship tip

Don't pack a power board, all luggage is x-rayed and our power board held up the luggage delivery to our cabin. Power boards, travel irons, coffee pod machines etc will be confiscated and returned to you on departure. There are usb ports in the cabin for iphones and ipads etc.
