Review summary

We missed all three stops in Israel due to the increased hostilities in the area. We were diverted to Santorini, Greece and Chania, Cyprus which were outstanding. The crew were great and the passengers seemed to be understanding. It was a great trip!

Embarkation

Efficient and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Plenty of places to eat. The Windjammer was great for breakfast until we found the Solarium. The breakfast in the Solarium was more intimate and a quieter experience.

Onboard Activities

Loved the Northstar. We paid for the extended experience and it was worth the money.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were top notch. The Book was great! We made sure we booked online before the cruise. It was the only show requiring a reservation.

Children's Programs

We did not travel with children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were professional, courteous, friendly and helpful!

Ship Quality

Cutting edge and adventurous. A great ship to explore during sea days. Loved the 270 theatre.

Cabin / Stateroom

We liked enjoying the views from our balcony whether at sea or in port.

Ship tip

Northstar at night is a must!

Ports of call

Limassol, Cyprus

We did the “Ancient Kourion & Kolossi Castle” excursion. Ancient Kourion was nice and informative. We stopped at the castle but the tour did not include the entrance to the castle.

Ashdod, Israel

Kusadasi (Ephesus), Turkey

We did not do an excursion. A great walkable port. The merchants are somewhat pushy but a courteous “no thank you” with a smile goes a long way. There is a beautiful park with a fort called Pigeon Island about a mile from the ship. It’s free and you can take great pictures of the ship from there.

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

We took the “Explore Athens and Ancient Acropolis” excursion. Enjoyed the Acropolis but very crowded. If you want to visit it, take a ship excursion and go as early as possible. If you have problems with crowds and/or lines I would avoid.

Naples, Italy

We did not do an excursion. A great walkable port. Many places to eat off the ship. If you want to purchase souvenirs you can do better in town.

Disembarkation

We paid for the transfer to the airport. We used luggage assistance as our flight was not leaving until 12:40 PM.
