Review summary

The services and entertainment are excellent. The food was bad compares to the same ship on a different cruising route, i.e. Caribbean. Everything is watered down or diluted. They can't even do the salad bar right. The ranch and blue cheese dressings were totally tasteless. The Taco bar was horrendous. Everything there was so bland and the sour cream was so watery. It was very difficult to obtain fresh squeeze orange juice for breakfast even with packaged drinks. The dining room food was mediocre at best. Sometimes the buffet food was better.

Ship tip

If you like rushing through the excursions, then sign up for the European cruises. They even charge you for buses going from the port out to the terminal.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

Charge each person 30 Euro to get drop off 5 km in town - Palma De Mallorca.

Marseille (Provence), France

Notre-Dame de la Garde is worth seeing. Fontaine du Palais Longchamp was a joke of a place. Looks good in pictures. There was hardly any grass when we visited in August. All weeds. What an embarrassment to the city. Definitely not well maintained and underfunded.

La Spezia, Italy

Nothing really special for a bunch of beach towns. Overcrowded and the restaurant services are very poor.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

There is nothing to see in Civitavecchia. It is not Rome so why put Rome in parenthesis? Rom is an hour train ride away from the dam port. They charge you 6 Euro to bus a person out to the main terminal. It costs only 5 Euro for an hour train ride to Rome. This is a common them - charging to take passengers to the terminal from where the ship docks.

They gave us different luggage tags located at different pickup terminals for the same family in two adjacent rooms. Hello Genius!!!!
