Review summary

This was our first RCCL cruise. We spoke with people who had multiple experiences with the company and even they were disappointed. One remarked that after the pandemic the quality went down considerably.

Embarkation

2 out of 5
Embarkation was chaotic at best. We were just herded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The specialty dining was the bright spot in the trip. We ate at Chops twice and once at Giovanni's Table as well as the Chef's Table. The food at the Windjammer was fine but their hours were inconsistent and they would close half of it down for turnover at the worst times. There were a lot of children on this cruise. The Solarium bar and restaurant are supposed to be adults only but staff did not enforce this; thus children were taking chairs meant for adults. Their parents were apparantly self-deemed to not be subject to this rule.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The fitness center is very nice.

Entertainment

We didn't attend any entertainment events.

Children's Programs

We don't have children.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Our steward was great but overall the staff exhibited a lack of energy.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship is very beautiful. But the Bionic Bar and Spotlight Karaoke rooms are a waste of space. Nobody goes in there.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
It's shoing its age with a cracked sink and gouge our of the toilet. Otherwise it was fine. However, we were subjected to threadbare and stained towels. We didn't start getting the Cruise Compass until Thursday so communication was quite poor.

Ship tip

I'd suggest another cruiseline.

Ports of call

Miami, Florida

2 out of 5
The way they control traffic just leads to questions and tempers.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

3 out of 5

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

4 out of 5

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

4 out of 5
This is a very nice venue. But the kayak equipment needs updating.

Disembarkation

2 out of 5
It was as chaotic as embarkation. Not enough stanchioning so people were cutting into our line with very little control from staff.
