Review summary

We had a great time but I’m afraid the fact that Royal Caribbean closed the Solarium Bistro for the enjoyment of a small group really disappointed us! It is very popular spot for adults to get a bit of peace and surely they could have found another venue to prepare their kosher meals for the small group who bought the kosher package for this cruise. It left a bitter taste in the mouth.

Food and Dining

Some nights the MDR food wasn’t great, especially the first night. Service was slow. The Windjammer had great food at all times. We didn’t appreciate them closing the Solarium Bistro for the entire cruise for a private group!

This was a guarantee so we didn’t get to choose it ourselves but we were very satisfied! Perfect location halfway between two sets of stairs and lifts and beautiful unobstructed view. The overhang from the pool deck above didn’t worry us. There was a bit of noise in the early morning hours from the pool deck caused by crew dragging chairs around but nothing serious.

Ports of call

Coxen Hole, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

We did the Eco park excursion to see the sloths. Very enjoyable!

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to the El CID hotel right by the port exit and bought a day pass for $55 each which allowed us the use of all their amenities and unlimited food and drinks. The snorkeling was great! Highly recommended!

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

Nice Port. We took a taxi to Krazy Lobster and had a lovely day there. Free access to their beach, kayaks, loungers etc. Only pay for what you eat and drink. Very friendly staff. 5 beers for $5. A great place to go to. Snorkeling was good.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

Absolutely stunning beaches and lovely snorkeling! We didn’t book anything extra.

The Solarium Bistro didn’t have a small group, it was closed for several hundred cruisers.

I wouldn't be pleased about the Solarium being closed for a private group, either. On a ship this size, there had to be a less intrusive option. Many of us adults love to escape for a bit.

Correction Room number was 12712. We were consecutive cruisers and previous one was 14612. Had to move after the 5 - 15 sailing. Both rooms were identical ocean view balconies and very pleasant.
