I was very anxious as the cruise date approached because of all the hoops we had to jump through to be able to go on the cruise and all the things that could go wrong (Our flight getting cancelled, getting Covid at the last minute, testing positive while onboard the ship, not receiving our test results in time for embarkation, etc.). My stress level was at an all time high! But fortunately, everything actually worked out pretty smoothly. Our flights were on time and we got to Miami the day before, and my stress melted away once my daughter’s test at embarkation came out negative and we were able to board the ship. We traveled with a young child and our older parents and there was something to do for everyone on the ship. The experience that we had was so worth it and at reduced capacity the service was fantastic and there were never any lines.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
2 days before the cruise, we were told to arrive 2 hours later for our check in. We arrived at our original scheduled time anyway because we had a child under 5 that had to receive a Covid test before embarking. We were allowed inside to test when we arrived to port with no issues and the Covid test was quick. We received the results in under an hour. Because our check in time was at 11:30 we then had to wait until families with children were cleared to board the ship which didn’t occur until almost 2pm. Thankfully had brought some coloring books to entertain my child in the meantime and it wasn’t too big of a deal.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Most of the food was excellent! I absolutely loved the chicken sandwich at Coco Cay. The burgers, onion rings and sundae from Johnny Rockets were so tasty. I got a bagel with cream cheese every morning for breakfast at Park Café and the Kummelweck sandwich from there was so good I had to get seconds.
The pizza at Sorrentos and the quesadillas at El Loco fresh were average. Not very memorable or fresh.
I ate almost every dinner in the main dining room and was not disappointed. My favorite items were the French onion soup, the crème brûlée, tiramisu braised beef short ribs and lobster tails!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Aqua80s and ice skating shows were great! Also really enjoyed the Beatlemaniacs and Midnight Avenue show. I went to see the show Cats and the performers were really talented but I didn’t really understand the storyline and would not go to see it again. I did not find the comedian Stephen Thomas very funny but Jeff Bodart was a natural and was a lot fun to go watch.
Children's Programs

Adventure Ocean was a great option to have. On our sailing, they allowed children to be dropped off in the morning and afternoon first come, first served until capacity was reached. For the evenings and sea days, times had to be reserved in advance and were limited to 9 hours for the week.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was impeccable. High touch areas were regularly being cleaned. Absolutely beautiful and impressive. It was easy to get around the ship with signs throughout the ship as well as the app.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Absolutely no complaints. Cabin was clean, in a great area convenient to most places we needed to go on ship.
Ship tip
Book shows early but especially Aqua80s! All the show times were sold out for the whole week by the first day.
My favorite day of the whole cruise! I fell in love with Roatan! We took an excursion to Gumbalimba Park and then walked down to Tabyana beach where we snorkeled in the 2nd greatest barrier reef in the world. The water was so clear and blue and there was so much variety of beautiful fish. Absolutely beautiful!
Amazing island with loads to do for the whole family. I went snorkeling there. The water was a bit cool but fine after a few minutes. The water is very calm and not very deep by the shore (safe for your children).
We did an excursion to Chankanaab and had a great time! We only wish we had more time there to walk around and explore the Mayan ruin replicas and learn a bit more about the history of Mexico. Heavy rain limited the amount of time we could wander around and we spent that time in the souvenir/photo shop. The water is not as clear here for snorkeling but it was still worthwhile. The food provided in the excursion was decent. The margaritas were very good.
Did not really get a chance to see much of the port due to a day long excursion to see the Mayan ruins of Dzibanche and Kohunlich. The ruins were very impressive and our tour guide was fantastic.
