Oasis of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: February 04, 2018

Ship: Oasis of the Seas

Traveled as: Couple

Review summary

This was our second cruise with Royal Carribbean, having only cruised on the smaller Majesty of the Seas before. My husband and I absolutely loved the Oasis. There was always something to do, the food was nice (and so were the drinks). We had a busy week with family before we escaped for some relaxation on the oasis and everything was perfect. Only thing that was sort of disappointing was in the main dining room. The food wasn't very good and the waiter kept ignoring my husband, wouldn't take his order or ask if he wanted a drink or anything. We had to keep reminding him.

This was our first balcony cabin ever, and now there is no going back. We loved sitting out there with a drink as we got ready for dinner, or if we just wanted a little quiet time. Absolutely beautiful views. The rest of the cabin was nice ... standard cruise ship cabin. Comfy bed, clean bathroom.

I guess I'm the weirdo. Done Insides, Oceanview, Balconies, Suites. Doesn't matter. Category 4J only on Carnival spirit class ships have french doors behind the lifeboats so no view but you get fresh air in an inside cabin. Take me out to sea.

Ally57—We used to get balconies, and I use to feel the same way as you, but with retirement, and a much smaller budget, we only book inside cabins. So, yes, there is such thing as adjusting to an inside cabin after years of balconies if it means the ability to cruise at least once, if not more, every year when retired. We loved our morning coffee on the balcony, but I now equally enjoy my early morning walk and coffee from the coffee bar. Just a new and different routine. 😎🛳

Suggestion: Next time you have dining issues, speak to Head Waiter. He/She will correct things. Enjoy cruising!

There's definitely no going back after a balcony! My husband loves to have coffee every morning on the balcony. I remain loyal to Royal.

Sounds like the waiter we had on the Oasis in 2015. He was awful! We recently returned to Carnival and are very happy. Carnival ‘s staff is probably the friendliest and most accommodating in the cruise industry. And their food is much better, too.
