Review summary

Great ship, plenty to do. When you were in certain areas such as the shops, central park etc you forgot you were on a ship. It was as if you were on a shopping trip with family.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Went smoothly, only issue I had was boarding time. We traveled with others and even though we went up basically the same time to check in we had different boarding times. No big deal we rated to the last boarding time a member had and then we all went on together.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
I would give the dining room a 5 star. Great waiters and fantastic food. Buffet would be a 4. Had plenty of choices but not everyone was happy with what was served based on the port we were at.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Loved the solarium but way to crowded especially on sea days. The younger people traveling with us loved all the extra activities.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Loved the entertainment and the shows. However we did have some issues booking the entertainment before we cruised. We all went to the comedy club and some of us the online reservation did not work for. However the girl was very nice and accommodate us.

Children's Programs

No kids

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our dining staff Jervis and his assistant was the best located in anytime dining. One night we were unable to sit with them and the service was horrible. Even the bar waiter was horrible. When drinks were ordered he went to the front of the table and made everyone pass the drinks down to the end. Mind you know one was at the tables close to us so there was no excuse he did not bring the drink to the individual. We were so happy when we were able to sit with the original waiters. They made our nights.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything seemed cleaned. I did see alot of staff wiping down handrails, elevators etc.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was not worth paying for the central park view, all I saw was tables with umbrellas and people eating. The room it self was nice and loved having a shower door not a shower curtain. Room however was too warm at night to sleep but was very cold doing the day.

Ship tip

Make all your entertainment reservations as soon as possible. The shows book quickly.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

It is where we boarded.

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved it. Had a great time.

Falmouth, Jamaica

2 out of 5
Felt safe within the shopping area however attempted to venture outside the gates and it was scarry. You should warn people not to go outside the area unless on a tour. Even then we had a couple go outside on a tour and they said it was not the best ride they had. I will try to pick cruises that will avoid this port, otherwise I would just stay on the ship.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Great port, plenty to do. Did a day pass at Cozumel El Cozumeleno. Booked it through priceline. Best time ever. Great staff there.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very easy, took our luggage with us.

The Oasis is a fabulous ship, but your comment about it feeling like “a shopping trip” was pretty close to how I felt. I loved the ship, but I felt I didn’t have that connection to the ocean. So much to do and see, and our family had a wonderful time, but there were not as many areas open to the ocean to sit and enjoy and relax. We cruised the NCL Getaway after the Oasis, and loved their Waterfront area. We could sit out there, have a cocktail, and watch the sunset.
