Review summary

Great ship! This was our third time on this ship. We thought that we had seen everything she has to offer, we were pleasantly surprised. Great crew. Everyone was very accommodating and professional. Made for a very pleasant and enjoyable cruise. We would take this itinerary again. Great itinerary! We were booked on the itinerary leaving Port Canaveral on April 21. Now we feel even worse that we missed that one :-)! To the captain and staff, thanks for an awesome cruise!

Embarkation

One of the quickest embarkation we have experienced! Very efficient!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Plenty of venues to eat at. The crew was helpful and friendly. The only criticism I have is that our first experience with “My Time” dining left much to be desired. The first night was great. The dining staff was excellent. We were encouraged to get reservations for the follow on nights and should have took the advice. It was next to impossible to get into the main dining room (which deck 3 was designated for “My Time” dining and the wait was extremely long. We ate at the Wind Jammer for the remainder of the cruise. The Wind Jammer was great (plenty of food choices, the food and service was excellent).

Entertainment

This was our third time on the Oasis so we’ve seen: Frozen in time and Come Fly with me. The shows were great! Hat’s off to the performers and support staff.

Service and Staff

The staff was commendable. Everyone we met was courteous, professional and friendly.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was roomy, clean and comfortable.

Ship tip

Select a reservation time in the main dining area. Even if you don’t make it to your dining reservation or choose a specialty time you have that reservation.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

Great port with plenty to see. We opted for the Mount Serrat with Airport transfer at disembarkation. Our time there was limited due to the traffic and other visitors. Be advised that services are being held in the sanctuary so movement around the church might be limited.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

5 out of 5
We did the City of Palma highlight tour. Great tour for getting a highlight of the city.

Marseille (Provence), France

5 out of 5
We did the Marseille City sights. Went to the Notre Dame de La Garde basilica overlooking Marseille. Great for taking scenic photos overlooking the city. Not too much time for shopping unless you leave the tour at the end and take the shuttle back to the ship.

La Spezia, Italy

We did the Florence and Pisa excursion. You spend a lot of time on the bus but the excursions are worth while for a “once in a lifetime” adventure or to give you and idea of what you might like to see if you return. The time at Pisa was very limited due to the amount of other visitors and travel time.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We did the Discover Renaissance Rome. Be prepared to do a lot of walking. Our tour guide did an excellent job keeping up with everyone. We started the excursion late due to difficult weather and arrived about an hour late to port. Then we had several passengers that we waited for (which made us even later). The tour guide and driver did an excellent job navigating us through the city and giving us highlights of Rome. Our lunch stop was fantastic with plenty of venues to select. Our tour guide gave us several recommendations and we weren’t disappointed.

Naples, Italy

We did the Sorrento and Almaty drive. I would definitely do this excursion again, however I would make sure that I sat on the right side of the bus. There were beautiful vistas along the coast line but only viewable from the right-side of the bus (which we were not sitting). We only stopped three times to enable us to get out of the bus for photo taking. I assumed that we would return the same way we came to allow those on the left-side of the bus the photo opportunities that the right-side had but it was a wrong assumption. If you enjoy taking pictures (Please make sure you sit on the right side of the bus). The traffic was very heavy and nail biting. We did stop for lunch (which was included) and the staff was very professional.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
The disembarkation was very quick and easy. The fastest we’ve every had.
