Oasis of the Seas

7 Night Western Caribbean (Port Canaveral Roundtrip)

Sail date: March 17, 2019

Ship: Oasis of the Seas

Cabin type: Balcony

Cabin number: 11245

Traveled as: Large Group

Review summary

Looking forward to the next cruise in June on the Allure.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Port Canaveral used to have a special (and shorter) line to pass through security for Crown and Anchor society members (Diamond and above) which did not exist for this cruise. Even though there was just one massive line, it moved fairly quickly due to the number of security personnel.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
We were a group of 21 people and the dining room had no problem accommodating us in my time every night at the same tables. Awesome job to the Hostesses (Maricel and Freya).

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Being an avid Flowrider, members of our group reserved the Flowrider twice during our cruise (current cost $345/hour without instruction). The sport’s staff were top notch as always.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Although we didn’t attend any shows (since we’ve sailed multiple times on Oasis), members of our group raves about the entertainment.

Children's Programs

4 out of 5
There were 3 children as part of our group, both kids and parents were very satisfied with the program.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Since our group was celebrating the life of dear friend we lost, part of our cruise entailed the scattering if ashes. Security blocked off part of the aft section of deck 5 (the running track) in coordination with the assistant guest services manager so that we could have a period of privacy to scatter the ashes.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Oasis is still holding up pretty well, looking forward to seeing her after the revitalization is complete.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Central Park View, very clean and typical level of comfort

Ship tip

Always book the comedy club show as soon as possible, it sells out quickly.

Ports of call

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
Always enjoy Labadee as a beach port of call; avoid the ocean side (where the zip liners fly over) - the beach is rocky and not as nice as the bay side.

Falmouth, Jamaica

3 out of 5
The port is clean, nothing to do but shopping and it’s not safe to walk outside the gated area.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
Did a private excursion all-inclusive day pass (not through Royal Caribbean) to the Allegro beach resort. Enjoyed the beach and the bar; however the luncheon was horrible and the non-motorized watersports were canceled due to “rough waters” even the parasailing and wave runners could still be rented.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Since we drove to the port, the carry off of luggage was a breeze (need to be off the ship by 8:45am to take advantage of it).
